I was drawn to this restaurant because of the hole-in-the-wall vibes.
Unfortunately it was a less than pleasant experience and I would not recommend it to other patrons.
The trouble began when our table didn't eat our appetizers quickly enough. We ordered spring rolls and the samosa inspired rolls, both of which were deep fried. When the server came to check on us and saw we hadn't touched them he was annoyed and asked us, "why?!". He then told us that we wouldn't be getting the main courses until we did.
The Singapore noodles and General Tao chicken plates were well portioned. We ordered white rice on the side. Unfortunately the Singapore noodles were not the thin rice noodles with yellow curry we expected but rather thick stir fried udon noodles with an oily soy sauce. I was hoping for more heat and flavour on the chicken but there were a lot of condiments/sauces at the table that you could add to suit your needs.
What has prompted me to leave a poor review came at the end of the meal. We were ready to pay and go to the cinema and did not intend to take the rest with us given it would sit in the car on a 30° day.
This was completely unacceptable apparently. Our server began to raise his voice and wave his arms around, asking why we would waste HIS food. How could we do this? Just take the food and bring it into the theatre!
We politely declined but he was adamant. He was angry. So we took the box.
His demeanor changed back to pleasant while we paid. When he saw we opted for no tip he was angry again.
I don't expect every meal to be blow your mind and change your life delicious but I do expect to be treated with respect. I didn't mind the lackluster food because sometimes you just want something that is reliably ok. Sadly this did not even meet that mark.
Also a warning, this restaurant adds auto gratuity (there is signage for this at the table) for parties greater than 2.
The courtesy with which the owner responds to poor reviews is VERY different to how you are treated in...

I’ve ordered Cashew-nut Chicken dish - my favourite I usually order at Chinese restaurants. This was Saturday evening and the place was practically empty so naturally I became suspicious. I was too lazy to look for another restaurant, so I asked if they had a photo of that dish. They did and it looked appetizing, so based on that photograph and description I placed an order (I also ordered a Crispy Beef).
The Cashew-nut Chicken was probably the worst dish I’ve ever tasted anywhere and I’m not trying to exaggerate! First of all, the dish didn’t resemble the photograph from the menu even remotely. The taste wasn’t just bad, it was horrible, vomit inducing! The meat was dry and lacking flavour but the worst part was the mysterious greyish goo, also known as the sauce, it looked and tasted like a green bean soup mixed with yesterday’s mystery dish.
I thought I give it to my dog but I was afraid I’ll be reported for animal cruelty and since the closest toxic disposal facilities were too far I decided to dispose it into a sewer, hopefully the damage to the environment wasn’t too extensive...
After this ‘culinary experience’ I was desperate and still hungry, so even though the Crispy Beef dish was made with the cheapest meat parts, it tasted kind of okay.
I guess there are good reasons why this restaurant is so empty on...
