Food is always great and the servers were friendly and helpful. This particular visit was not the best. It was a Tuesday about 6:30pm when we visited with our granddaughter who is full of energy and chatter. There was a large group that hadn't received food and plenty of tables were full. Maybe an unexpected busy night? It was at least 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. It was about 45 minutes before we got our food. This is hard with a child who is hungry and busy. We spilled a glass of water and no one was around to help or give napkins. It was about 10 minutes later before we saw anyone to ask for napkins and another water. It was about 8:15 when we ordered the kids dessert. 5 minutes later the server came by and asked if we wanted any other dessert and still another 15 before the adult dessert came and then another 5 before the kids dessert came. Very awkward to wait for the kids dessert when you have ice cream melting on the plate but starting to eat it meant sharing and it's important for the kid to not have too much sugar so wait. Waited for the bill. There was too much waiting in between every step. We were there 2 hours with a 6 year old. We had the only child in the restaurant so perhaps the staff don't understand that you get families in and out as fast as possible. We are there to eat not socialize with a 6 year old. 2 hours is fine for an adult table. The greeter that seated us also didn't give us the colouring page and I had to go ask because of the time lag. I would go back, adults only and when I am looking for a relaxing conversation but not with children. We had steak frites which was great but very small. Thai chicken salad - great and children's cheese pizza. Oh and please always bring the kids meal out before the rest of the table because it needs to cool and then the adults have time to attend the child's food before theirs arrives. We also had the kids dessert which was fabulous, one small scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce in a smoking bowl. Very cool. And bite size Brownie. Hummm does that sound like it should take 2 hours? Price was a bit high for the amount of food. Parking free and plenty of it. Easy to get to location at Courtney Park and Hurontario. This is a good spot if you don't want...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I live in Toronto, but we dined-in at this location 2 months ago while we were visiting my folks. We were so surprised at how tasty and flavourful the vegan tacos and lettuce wraps were, that we came back today for them, but this time for take out. In addition to the tacos, we ordered a kids menu pasta, chicken rigatoni, power bowl, sweet potato fries and salmon- everything was delicious. But this review is just as much about the customer service as it is the menu. One of our items was forgotten in our pick up order tonight, and we noticed they forgot to give it to us when we got home and were ready to eat. When we phoned in to tell them about the mistake, Ethan went above and beyond that I have to give him a shout out! Even though Moxies canāt accommodate deliveries, he delivered the missing item to us personally and he also gave us a complementary sticky toffee pudding (also delicious, by the way!) Getting a bonus item was an unexpected nice touch, but what REALLY stood out was how accommodating and empathetic Ethan was as soon as we connected. I am in customer service too, and I know mistakes can happen despite our best efforts, I get it. So even though I was disappointed by the missing meal, I wasnāt going to jump online and give them a 1 star review for it. To be honest, I wouldnāt have left a review at all, but I wouldnāt rush to come back. But GREAT customer service stands out when you see how a mistake is handled, that I am making a point to share this experience with others and to give them 5 stars. Ethan, thank you! And to the entire staff, they were all personable on the phone, cheery, and wanting to help. We will come back next time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTonight we walked in and were told it was a 15 minute wait. We left and went to another restaurant. My vegan friend then decided she would prefer Moxies due to the menu options so prior to returning to the restaurant, I hopped on Open Table to see if there were reservations for the 15 minutes later so I booked it and we drove back to Moxies. The hostess pulled up our reservation and asked us to have a seat for a few minutes until the table was ready. After having us sit in the front waiting for our table for 20 minutes a manager came over and told us they wouldnāt be able to honour our reservation because we made it while we were there. Not true, and I am guessing was told to her by the hostess? The manager advised that she would not be able to seat us at all as they were too busy and we didnāt have a reservation they would honour. She had zero desire to provide a solution or try to make up for our wait. Zero customer service skill and she was completely apathetic and unapologetic. If I was turning away a table who I already had wait 20 minutes at our request for a table, you better believe Iād be apologizing and providing a gift card in the hopes the customer would give us a try another day. She didnāt give a care at all. I have frequented Moxies for many years but this was enough to say that I will NEVER return to a Moxies after wasting so much of my night on a place that does not care about its customer service experience and allows management to treat...
