My recent visit to industria on Courtney park- was, unfortunately, a mixed bag that leaned heavily towards disappointment due to a deeply unsettling experience with the management. While the culinary offerings were genuinely impressive, the overall evening was marred by what appeared to be overt discriminatory behavior. Upon entering, it was immediately clear that the restaurant was experiencing some issues with its climate control. We were informed that roof repairs were underway, leading to a noticeably hot and uncomfortable dining environment. To be fair, this wasn't an insurmountable problem in itself; unforeseen circumstances happen, and we were prepared to make the best of it. However, the situation took a significant turn for the worse with the actions of an Indian manager on duty. As the heat became more pronounced, fans were brought out – a welcome sight, we thought. Yet, to our dismay and increasing disbelief, these fans were exclusively distributed to tables occupied by Indian customers. My family and I, along with other non-Indian patrons, were left to contend with the stifling heat while tables just feet away enjoyed the relief of a cool breeze. This preferential treatment was not subtle; it was blatant and undeniable. The manager’s actions felt incredibly dismissive and, frankly, insulting. It wasn't just about the physical discomfort of the heat; it was the sting of feeling overtly marginalized and undervalued as a customer. When we attempted to discreetly inquire about the possibility of a fan, we were met with what felt like a dismissive attitude, further cementing our perception that this was not an oversight but a deliberate act of partiality. The delicious food, which truly was a highlight became almost secondary to the unpleasant atmosphere created by this discriminatory behavior. It's a genuine shame because the chefs clearly possess immense talent, crafting dishes that were authentic and flavorful. However, the experience left a sour taste that no amount of culinary excellence could erase. A restaurant, regardless of its cuisine, should be a welcoming space for all patrons. The actions of this manager were not only unprofessional but deeply offensive, fostering an environment where some customers were clearly prioritized over others based on what appeared to be their ethnicity. While I would love to recommend this restaurant solely on the merit of its food, I cannot, in good conscience, do so without highlighting this incredibly disturbing aspect of our visit. Until such management practices are addressed and rectified, I would caution others to consider their experience carefully. Good food alone cannot compensate for feeling disrespected and...
Read moreI have been to Industria a few times and always had a positive experience so last night was VERY disappointing. First of all, I made a reservation a month ago for 6 of us to have a pre-Xmas dinner but when I got there there wasn’t even a table set up for us. We were shoved into a table right beside the server stand that was just not acceptable. I asked if we could have the long table in the back of the bar but was told that was reserved (it wasn’t, because it remained empty the whole time we were there). So we squeezed into a bar booth and made it work. The question is why wasn’t our reservation made a month ago a priority for this restaurant?
Then we move onto the service. It was appaling. It took 20-25 minutes for us to get our drink orders, which consisted of one bottle of wine and some water…that’s it. The server also uncorked our $80 bottle of wine at the bar and brought it out to us with the cork sticking out of it. I had to ask why that was and she basically said that her opener wasn’t very good so she does it at the bar. Ummmm…..what?
After another 10 minutes or so, we had to flag down another server to get our server so we could put in our food order. We waited a while for our app and our mains but that didn’t bother us so much. When our mains came, they forgot our dipping sauces and we wanted more water. Our server never came by to ask if everything was ok and if our food was cooked to our liking. One girl had steak, that definitely requires a check in. We flagged down another server, again, to get our server. We ask for the dips and more water (again). She brings the dips, forgets the water. We flag her down again, two people order another glass of wine and we reminded about the water. We watch her go behind the bar and leisurely get the wines whilst chatting with another bartender…just zero sense of urgency. We had people at our table that were literally just drinking water and the glasses were small so more water was necessary. She finally brings the wine and another carafe of water. Our plates sat empty at our table for 40 minutes and were never cleared. We were never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert, and we were certainly looking forward to that. We even had to get up and ask her for the bill. This was honestly just the worst service experience I’ve had in a long time. Was it just incompetence? Inexperience? Don’t know but she did not get a good tip from us and we are good tippers. She missed out. We basically gave enough so she could tip out the kitchen because the food was good.
Highly...

It was 2022 I went there for work Xmas party lunch.
But my Visit on Oct 27, 2023 evening was outstanding. Greeted by "the amazing Grace" no puns intended (that is her name.).... I mean the hostess. She gets all the menus and kids crayons and color sheets together as she walks us over to our booth.
Earlier that day I had called in to reserve a table or booth, where we can see the live kitchen as my 6yr old daughter was going through a phase being fascinated by pizza makers. The Indian girl inside the pizza kitchen lived up to her designated title.... as my daughter titles her now "the best pizza flipper". ( will edit this when I get her name right).
The manager over the phone. .. "Billy" *(don't even get me started on his amazing customer experience delivery) assured us the best table. And he kept up to his promise on a busy Friday night.
Our server Andy happened to only be adding more to our amazing experience with his smile and friendliness.
Another good part I must add here is... while I couldn't see the sign where the washrooms were.... after using one i realized. They are also "LGBTQA+" friendly... as there were multiple separate washrooms instead of categorized to "men" and "women".
The food was amazing. We ordered. ...
FRIED MOZZARELLA
GNOCCHI WITH ROSE SAUCE
MARGARITA PIZZA
CARNIVORE PIZZA.
I have gotta say..we were extremely satisfied and amazed.
GO THERE. NOW! . EVEN IF IT'S JUST FOR...
