The Sour Cream Scandal That Haunts Me to This Day.
I would give zero stars if it was an option, but alas, we live in a world of injustice.
Okay, I don't even know where to begin with this catastrophe of a meal that STILL haunts me to this day. This incident happened months ago, but my rage, confusion, and the emotional scars it left on my soul are as fresh as the disgusting sour cream they tried to charge me for. Let me break it down for you, dear reader, because clearly this is a tale of corporate betrayal, sour cream deception, and customer service that could only be described as spicy burrito meat gone wrong.
So there I was, on my period (yes, I’m going there—deal with it), craving one thing and one thing only: a burrito bowl, drenched in sour cream and love. I walk into this Chipotle, half-dead from cramps and the emotional turmoil of being a woman, and I just want to get through this meal with my dignity intact. I approach the counter, and the worker—greeted me with a look that said, “I’m about to ruin your period for no reason.”
I’m already feeling off: the cramps, the mood swings, and the hormonal chaos in my body. But I hold it together, like a champion, and ask for my bowl with the usual toppings, including sour cream on the side. I’ve been a Chipotle regular long enough to know that sour cream is included in the price of a bowl. EXCUSE ME if I’m mistaken, but I didn’t realize that a side of sour cream was suddenly the luxury item of the century.
That’s when worker hit me with the heart-stopping bombshell: “That’ll be $1.25 for the side sour cream.”.
EXCUSE ME?!? I thought I misheard her. Maybe it was the hormones or the fact that I was about two seconds away from walking out, but I paused, looked her in the eyes, and said, “What do you mean $1.25? Sour cream is free.”
She didn’t even flinch. Just stared at me with blank eyes, like she had made it her life’s mission to make my period even worse. She gave me a look and said “$1.25”.
But I wasn’t done. EXCUSE ME, ARE YOU KIDDING? I had already been betrayed by my own uterus, and now I had to pay for something that’s supposed to be free? As I paid, I could feel my soul slowly leaving my body, piece by piece, knowing I didn’t get my sour cream.
I went back to the table, ready to eat my feelings (which were just raw sadness at that point), but the sour cream incident had already ruined my meal. I took one bite of my bowl... and immediately wanted to throw up. Not because the food was bad (Chipotle, you know I love you), but because I almost paid $1.25 for sour cream and I COULD NOT UNSEE THE INJUSTICE. The sour cream tasted like betrayal and the tears of every woman who’s ever been charged for something that’s supposed to be free.
And then, to make it worse, I spent the rest of the night battling cramps, and sour cream-sadness. That night, I didn’t just lose my dignity—I lost all trust in Chipotle. I woke up the next morning with a stomach ache and the bitter realization that I STILL had not been given my $1.25 worth of sour cream, and that this woman had “won”.
To Chipotle, I say this: EXCUSE ME, WHY HASN’T THIS TRAGEDY BEEN REMEDIED? I contacted plenty of times…
I will never forget the day that sour cream cost me $1.25...
Read moreOn the evening, of May 20 we remembered there was a new Chipotle Mexican Grill opened up on Erin Mills Parkway. So us a family of 4 went out to eat there. Once we got to the location, it was really modern and nice. Not the best tables regarding they we're not clean. We got in line, and started telling them what we want.
2 Bowls 2 Burritos (x1 Chicken, x1 Vegetarian) 4 Drinks
While we we're ordering the Employees were not paying attention much and kept on asking us "what do you need again?". Not well trained at all. All of their ingredients we're gone, and took them time to get more of it. We got really less Guacamole, which is the best part of any Mexican dish! Finally we got the order done and payed.
So we go to the drinks! Not a Surprise, one of our family members does not drink carbonated drinks. She tried filling Lemonade first. Lemonade ran out. We tried Nestea. No Nestea. We went to a Employee, she told us it was out. She pointed at the Chipotle made Quencher. With all of this 'not the best' service we are not trying that Quencher. We got a refund for the other drink.
We go to the hot sauce. Hot sauce is fine. Their out of it, but they got some more, which was good.
Now we grab the other drinks that were available and only carbonated. We take a seat at a 4 people table, and eat the food. Normally Chipotle Burritos and Bowls are filled, which is what we like, but their kind of small. So we continue eating, we find a raw green bell pepper in the bowl. We continue eating and drinking and we finished the food.
We we're unable to take pictures since we did not have the thought in mind that we we're going to write a review.
Another thing. Be advised, that I love Chipotle and I have tried many locations in the United States and The GTA. So this service does not match anything to the other locations. If you live in the GTA and this is the only nearest location to you. There is another Chipotle in Square One Shopping Centre food court that you can try.

Read moreManager was rude. Ordered online and wanted to make adjustment and called before I ordered and was told thst was fine that if I ordered and called after they can change the rice as there was no option for it and there was no place to leave note. I did thst 20 seconds after I ordered and the staff said it was okay. The manager calls me back and told me that he can’t and he made my bowl. He said the girl didn’t tell him on time. I told them no offence but that’s his staffs fault not mine and I need my adjustment. He told me if I don’t like it get a refund and if I’m lucky I might get back my money. I said that’s ridiculous. He got upset and started being agressive on the phone saying he was the manager. I went after my 15 hour shift at CVH to go pick up my food and talk to the manager to show him there was no option. He didn’t care and told me that it’s my fault. I told him that’s not the case and next time he has a situation like thst that he should try to be more calm and respectful to customers. He told me he’s been a manager for 5 years and he doesn’t care what I say. I proceeded to tell him I’ll complain and what’s his name. He said he won’t give it and he doesn’t care about it as chipotle won’t care. I’m a regular. I get chipotle like 4x a week as I finish at the hospital and come. I will never go back. It’s ran by incompetent staff and the manager who takes his job more seriously in terms of power tripping at. Fast food joint and less serious in terms of customer service. He was approximately 5”6 with. Beard and very ugly looking and I would advise that they...
