If I could give zero stars for my recent experience, I would. I visited the Erin Mills Parkway drive-thru location today with my child and unfortunately had one of my worst experiences at Starbucks to date.
I ordered my usual drink, the Iced Brown Sugar Oat Shaken Espresso but when I received it, the cup was barely full and overloaded with ice. It was mostly ice, with BARELY any drink. So, I came back through the drive-thru to have it fixed.
I tried to explain politely that I don’t usually complain, but this wasn’t right. I mentioned that I’ve ordered the same drink at various Starbucks locations across Ontario and the U.S., and it’s never been made this way. Instead of listening, the barista defensively responded that those stores were wrong and said it more than once. I stayed calm and respectful, but she kept insisting that I should’ve customized my drink to “light ice.”
I let her know that I’ve never seen the option to do that in the app for this specific drink, unlike others. She continued to argue and wouldn’t acknowledge the issue. After she finally replaced my drink, I kindly asked if she could show me how to modify the ice level in the app so I’d know for next time. She dismissed me, saying, “Sorry ma’am, I have a line-up,” and refused to help further.
All I received was a flat “sorry” with no real assistance or resolution. It felt dismissive and unprofessional.
As a loyal Starbucks customer, I’ve always approached staff with kindness. But this experience was extremely frustrating and left me feeling disregarded. I hope this situation is addressed properly so that future customers aren’t treated...

As we arrived to the window to make the payment, everything went down hill. The employee named JOSHUA gave the debit machine and we made the payment. After he realized we didn’t leave him a tip, he just left our drinks sitting in the window on purpose and was pretending to run around the area trying to act busy in a sarcastic way. He left us sitting there for like 3 minutes just in shock looking at him act this way. He then came back after 3 minutes and said “sorry working in Starbucks is hard” we could not even believe this. I would like to add that he didn’t put the tip option on the screen for us to even give him a tip if we wanted to. We let the “on call manager” know and she told us to come back and talk to the real managers. This place is a joke and we will Not let this matter go. Do yourself a favour and avoid this location, the staff are very unprofessional and seem to...

Con: often not the study space or tranquil getaway you were hoping to use instead of staying home
I find being here to work a few times that the employees don’t regulate customers disturbing other people’s experiences. There were some large groups taking over the shop, kids running all around playing tag between working groups, they were throwing grab and go bean bags around while groups were trying to study and/ have business meetings.
I know, staff, youre probably not paid enough to want to try to engage with overly loud, disruptive people (I have been there too) but I think you have every reason to step in and ask them not to throw merch and grab and go food on the ground that other people will buy later…
That’s not clean or considerate for other customers.
Managers perhaps step in and make sure everyone can have a...
