Seeing negative reviews about bad service does not surprise me. I was at this location yesterday evening around 5:30 and was immediately met with rude stares and blank expressions from both the workers behind the counter. The workers did not smile, greet me, or say anything at all until I said hi and politely asked if they still carried Caramel Milk Tea since I did not see it on the menu. The Asian man behind the counter (early to mid-20s) was visibly annoyed and sighed slightly. Without looking up, he said something along the lines of “I don’t know, we might have caramel dulce.” while he continued what he was doing. I said “Oh I was just wondering about a regular caramel milk tea, do you have that?” and he replied saying that I was “gonna have to give him a minute”. I told him that wasn’t a problem and moved closer to the register. At that point, I noticed the other worker (a young brown girl) began to fill a cup behind her and I worried that she might have started to make the drink so I apologized and said that I would also like to add pearls. The Asian man behind the counter raised his tone and kinda threw his hands up saying “I haven’t even done anything yet”. I apologized again and admitted my mistake of thinking his coworker had started making the drink. Anyway, that seemingly prompted him to begin looking into my initial inquiry. He then punched a Caramel Dulce milk tea into the register and said “yeah we have it”. I politely told him again that I just wanted a regular caramel milk tea, and in a raised tone again, he began to explain that caramel dulce had more of a caramel flavour. I just said nevermind and ordered a Matcha milk tea. At no point afterwards did he say anything else to me other than call out the drink when it was ready. I thought maybe the store was about to close and that's why the workers were so displeased with me but I knew the store did not close until 11 pm (according to google) and the door was open, lights were on, etc. I found the whole interaction pretty weird and upsetting but overall unnecessary. I had a simple question and was not disrespectful at any point so I am not sure why I was met with such hostility. Service needs major improvement at this location - definitely won’t be...
Read moreEmployees/Cooperation will NOT remove toppings on sale items (even with allergies) while also being unable to remove the discount too.
I visited this COCO's location on thursday, while they were having their 30% off cocos classic event. I did not know this event was going on, but after learning that the bubble gaga was on sale, I opted for the bubble gaga without coconut jelly, as I usually get.
The employee notified me that with the promotion they would be unable to REMOVE the coconut jelly. I would understand if it was subbing or adding a topping, but removing? What is the reason for that.
The experince with the employee was fustrating, I tried to see if there were any workarounds to get the bubble gaga without coconut jelly, but the employee kept smiling and repeating that the company was very strict with sale items. It felt very patronizing.
Okay, so I can't get the bubble gaga on sale, so I tried to get it WITHOUT the discount. The employee was unable to do that either, so I could not get the bubble gaga AT ALL.
If I wanted the bubble gaga, I would need to buy the discount bubble gaga, but to get that I would need to buy it with coconut jelly which I have mild allergies too.
I do not understand how such discriminatory pratices are allowed in Canada. I was forced to buy a small passionfruit green tea boba drink instead which was more expensive than the regular priced large bubble gaga.
I do NOT recommend this cocos store, and if this discirmnatory pratice happens in other cocos stores too, I do NOT reccomend...
Read moreEverytime I come here, I usually get the same drink. I ask to add macchiato and the extra charge is okay. BUT everytime I get the macchiato..they forget it. So, I basically paid a bit more..for nothing. I'm 100% sure that it doesn't get mixed in there and it's supposed to be more white at the top. They didn't add the macchiato. This happened twice already. Both Saturdays two of the same people were working together.
Edited review to 1 star: Emailed Coco customer service and they tried to play it off as if the macchiato was mixed into the drink. I never mixed it and a little shake in the car wouldn't mix it into the drink. I've had macchiato many times and it always stayed on top when I got home. If you are ordering from this location, make sure to check if they added all your toppings. Macchiato is 1$ and not getting it every time I go..adds up. Or just avoid going on Saturdays when the lady and guy are working together. They're too busy laughing and talking that they always...
