Fresh Burrito — Restaurant in Mississauga

Decided to try Fresh Burrito for the first time for lunch at work. When entering the establishment, I was greeted by really friendly servers who were extremely helpful in answering my questions and assisting me through the order process. I was very impressed by the staff and their commitment to the customers.

I ordered a regular size butter chicken burrito and their Supreme Fries, which I saw being made when I first came in.

The portion size for the REGULAR burrito was GENEROUS, to say the least. While the server walked me through the choices of ingredients to put in the burrito, I kept seeing the filling portion get bigger and bigger. The butter chicken came last and the server had told me that the chicken was the marinated chicken used for the chicken burrito reheated in butter sauce.

After assembling the burrito (thinking by the sheer size she may have given me a large burrito), the fries came out of the fryer fresh and hot and topped with cheese sauce (typically three ladles of sauce but I just wanted one), tomatoes, chopped green onions, corn and doused with their spicy burrito sauce.

Sitting down to the lunch, everything looked and smelled great. Picking up the burrito, it was very heavy and for the price, they gave me a lot of food. That said, when biting into the burrito, all I can taste was a faintness of fish. I couldn't taste the butter sauce and the rest of the items sort of combined into one single flavour. It was disappointing.

As for the fries, they were good. However, in the end, with the combination of cheese sauce and the pre-seasoned fries, all it tasted like to me was a salt bomb. This only confirmed my decision at stopping at one ladle of cheese sauce.

I have eaten Tex-Mex food in Mexico and all along the southern US states bordering Mexico, in addition to some nice spots in the GTA. The best ones typically cater to a small, limited menu. The menu at Fresh Burrito was massive, with three kinds of shrimp, several vegetarian options ranging from tofu to sweet potato and a whole lot of meat and toppings and sauces.

Suffice it to say, if you are looking for large portion sizes, a large variety of options in the menu and really great service, I would highly recommend coming here.

However, I will not be coming here for lunch any time soon. Chicken-based burritos should not taste like fish and butter chicken should be made with properly...

Hello, I was excited to see this place open. Mexican food is my favourite and the location is super convenient.

Today was my second try. My first experience I felt like the lady working there had a personal hate for me. Especially as a new restaurant you’d think the service would be more friendly and welcoming. I felt so uncomfortable. Today was the exact same experience. Lots of staff working and not one greeting or smile the whole time. I tried making small talk to lighten the mood because I felt so uncomfortable. Was a fail.

My first order was so incredibly salty I wasn’t able to eat it. Felt like I wasted my money. Didn’t want to leave a review the first time. Understood it’s new and I’ve heard good things. And maybe I just got a bad bunch that was way over salted. But the combination of bad food and uncomfortable rude service I didn’t return for almost 2 months. Tonight I thought I’d give it another try. The service was the exact same. The exact same employee who made me feel uncomfortable with dirty looks the entire time. As my food was being prepared I wanted to leave before receiving it just because of that alone. The food this time.. so underwhelming. I’m sorry but, I’ve had a better microwave burrito from the grocery store sadly.

One positive- they do give really good portion sizes. But if the food isn’t worth eating It doesn’t really matter.

Another positive- the fries are not horrible.

I see a lot of good reviews. So I guess it’s possible I had bad luck both times.. but I won’t be trying it a 3rd time...

I have been looking for a new Burrito place for some time now, as a lot of other places fall short, but not Fresh Burrito. I came across this restaurant for the first time tonight, and sad I have been missing out on this food for all this time.

The staff was very friendly and polite, even personalizing our Burrito bags. The burritos were well filled, and the food looked fresh (you can see the staff cooking more of the meat options fresh behind the counter). There are a lot of protein options, I intend to go back and try more! They fill the burritos very well, but by no means do the fillings take away any of the flavor!

Before the final packing, they do a mixing technique that really mixes the fillings together, where every bite has an even blend of flavor!

My partner and I were very impressed, so much so, I am writing this review as I just finished my Burrito. It was the best burrito we have had in a good amount of time!

I didn't catch the name of the staff that was in late at night tonight, but when I go back I most definitely will give them a compliment.
