first, the good points: contemporary, spacious, and welcoming dining area. wide selection of menu items not found in other similar ayce restos. clean washrooms.
some areas needing improvement: consistent pacing is a must. started a tad slow with the orders. most servers were emotionless. all the ladies should take a cue from the gentleman (who i believe was our greeter as well) who took the time to smile and politely acknowledged our 'thank yous' either from bringing/taking away a dish). still not a fan of servers having to 'push' orders from the tablet instead of having the customer directly request them.
the really bad points: dipping dish set on the table was still wet like it came out straight from the dishwasher; out of the numerous ayce places we've been, this is the first time we've encountered a server putting ordered items on top of bowls we were still working on. the proper procedure should be to take out the finished plates off the table first and then serve the new batch of items (this happened even when their tables are larger and wider than most); when dessert was served, the spoons were just placed directly on the table (this is also a first as all ayce places would have a napkin ready, put this on the table first then rest the spoons there).
lastly, food fails: the tom yum soup. my daughter was a bit hesitant ordering it as the picture showed a bowl with mussels and a variety of items overfilling the bowl. it was nowhere near anything like the photo. what's worse is it tasted nothing like it! the chef forgot about the lemongrass and chilis -- it was just a salty, slightly sour broth. next, the tonkatsu. it was just random cuts of pork dipped/seasoned in flour. quite unlike the picture where it's a portion of pork covered in panko and chopped into cutlets. lastly, the cheese wonton. most restaurants who offer this item has this deep fried, piping hot, with flavourful cheese oozing upon biting. kb's version: a soggy, chewy wrap with dry cheese inside. as a side note, asked for both the black pepper beef and garlic beef. no difference whatsoever.
on the fence whether we'd be back for a second run or just give...
Read moreI recently visited K&B Sushi, and I must say, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. I waited for over an hour for my dish, and to make matters worse, I never even received it!
Throughout the agonizing wait, I approached the service staff not once, but twice, to inquire about my order. I explicitly expressed my frustration and asked how much longer I would have to wait. Their response? A dismissive suggestion to order something else. Are you kidding me? I came to this restaurant with a particular dish in mind, and I expected to be served what I ordered!
To add insult to injury, I reluctantly placed another order after being assured it wouldn't take much longer. However, even after waiting for an additional half hour, my second order failed to materialize. This level of incompetence and disregard for a customer's time is simply unforgivable.
The lack of communication and empathy from the service staff was truly disheartening. It's not just about the wait; it's about the way they handled the situation. I understand that mistakes can happen, but it's the restaurant's responsibility to rectify them promptly and efficiently. Instead, they brushed off my concerns and left me hungry and frustrated.
I left the establishment feeling utterly disappointed and disrespected. I will certainly never return, nor will I recommend this place to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience.
In summary, if you value your time and expect even a modicum of competence from the service staff, I strongly advise against dining at K&B Sushi. This experience was a complete waste of time, and I urge others to steer clear of this establishment to avoid the same frustration and...
Read moreThis review base on a "LUNCH BUFFET".
It's my 2nd time at this restaurant and my first was a mixed emotion, but the 2nd one made it clearer for me. The place is great and the dining area is huge. Nice light design and colors with a nice background music. I can't really remember if it's radio station or just plain music. Service was great though I wish I could see more smile from the staff. Price is competitive to other AYCE ot there but the food is always the difference.
Let's start with the kitchen food. The fried, the noodles, grills and others. Well all i can say ig frs excellent. The fried food and tempuras are really good. I would mark it as 5 star. Drone taste to texture. It's really amazing. The noodles are taste and the grills are perfectly cooked. The desert is pretty much the same as others. The ice cream, deep fried banana and puddings.
But what i am concerned more is the sushi part. Again im input talking about lunch and basically comparing it to others. The sushi selection is really not as good. A lot of maki's and it seem like most is the selection or choices include crispies on it or panko. Seems like they are coming out up with that to make it look big. Lots of cucumber or other veggie. Even the spicy salmon is not decent in my opinion.
Throw some salmon rose there or maybe bbq salmon sushi.. for sure that will make a difference. If i want to eat cucumber or panko I'd go buy it. Im NJ hit going to a Japanese buffet to have it.
But over all it balances it. A very good kitchen food and a almost bad sushi selection make it bearable. But then again it's a Japanese buffet. Japanese food should be better.
