This has to be the most ridiculous situation to ever happen to me at a restaurant. Our experience started great, everyone was friendly and our bartender was amazing! Yesterday was Canada day, we came to Posta maybe around 30 minutes before the fireworks that started around 10pm, we were a party of about 8 people. We had a table but a few of us were sitting at the bar. We all ordered drinks but then realized that one, the fireworks were starting and two, one of our friends didn’t receive an espresso martini that we had already paid and ordered for. So we asked the bartender if it was fine to come back because we all wanted to watch the fireworks and she said yeah no worries. My brother hadn’t finished his beer in time for us to go so he poured it into a red cup that we already had from earlier that day and we walked out, the bartender saw and nobody has said a thing therefore making it seem like we were fine because we were coming back. Fireworks are done and so we head back to Posta and as soon as we get back inside, hostility to the max. I don’t know if the manager was clearly on something or what, but we walked in and he immediately shouted out to my brother infront of his employees and the rest of our group about whats in the cup, we said its the beer from this place that we poured in the cup. He immediately starts to deny what we were saying and I said well if we’re not supposed to have that then how come none of your bartenders said it wasn’t okay to do that? We didn’t think anything wrong of the situation because we were coming back in less than 15 minutes. Then he proceeds to come at me, a younger girl, to say this is what feeds my wife and children. Like hold up, nobody even said anything wrong or gave you a reason to even say that, we’re just explaining what was happening. He did not let me finish. I didn’t even get a chance to tell him that we came back for our drink that we had already paid for. He was being extremely demeaning. He kept cutting me off and not listening to anything we had to say, I wanted to tell him that we were coming back to have the drink that we already paid for and he wouldn’t let me finish. Imagine having a grown man completely take your voice away and not let you speak, he wouldn’t let me finish and kept saying that hes calm, but he won’t even let me finish my sentence or what I had to say. I woke up this morning feeling extremely degraded, invalidated and absolutely felt like my voice was taken away from me. Again, we were having a blast at Posta but the manager completely ruined the experience and we will no longer keep Posta as one of our stops on our night outs. Absolutely ridiculous and a...
Read moreA Tale of Two Experiences at Posta Italbar: Stunning Views and Great Meatballs Shine, but Other Dishes and Ambiance Fall Short Mississauga, ON - Posta Italbar Cucina, a bustling Italian eatery with a prime location offering scenic views, promises a vibrant and upscale dining experience. And on many fronts, it delivers. The service is notably excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who navigate the busy floor with grace. The view, a significant draw, is undeniably awesome, providing a beautiful backdrop to the meal. However, the experience can be a tale of two extremes, with the lively atmosphere bordering on chaotic and the culinary journey having both peaks and valleys. Our recent visit left us with mixed feelings. The restaurant was packed, creating a vibrant, energetic buzz. While a testament to its popularity, the downside was a deafening noise level that made conversation a genuine struggle. This high-energy environment, while perhaps appealing to some, detracted from the intimacy of the dining experience. The service, however, was a consistent high point. From the host who greeted us to the server who took our order, every staff member was professional, welcoming, and efficient. They are a well-oiled team that manages the high volume of customers with impressive skill. Unfortunately, the food, with one notable exception, did not live up to the standard set by the service and the view. The meal began with a burrata that, when compared to others we’ve enjoyed, simply didn't measure up. The entrees followed a similar, underwhelming path. The New Brunswick Salmon wasn't spectacular, and the Beef Braised Ravioli was just okay. The standout dish, and the culinary highlight of the evening, was the meatballs—they were genuinely great and showcased the kitchen's potential. However, one standout dish couldn't quite redeem the rest of the "meh" culinary experience. The final bill confirmed our feeling that the overall experience was expensive. While the stunning view, impeccable service, and delicious meatballs are certainly worth a premium, the lackluster performance of the other dishes and the noisy environment made the cost feel disproportionate. In conclusion, Posta Italbar Cucina offers a visually stunning setting and top-tier service. It's a place to see and be seen, and for those who thrive on a high-energy atmosphere, it might be the perfect spot. Come for the view and the meatballs, but for those seeking an intimate dining experience where the entire menu consistently wows, it might be best to weigh the pros and cons before making a...
Read moreIn early April, my family chose POSTA to host a "family style" luncheon for family and friends following the funeral service for my mom at Trinity St Paul Anglican Church. The restaurant was perfectly located within walking distance from the Church, they had the ability and willingness to create an area for just us and their menu offered something for everyone. My husband worked with Blon in developing a pre-set menu that included appetizers, pizza's, Pasta, Chicken and vegetables and dessert along with with wine, soft drinks and coffee. They created a perfect space for us in the restaurant and arranged the tables as large groups so we could eat and be together family style. Every plate had a copy of the pre-printed menu and there was space for our guests to walk around and visit with one another and share special memories of my mom. The food was FABULOUS and plentiful!!! Everyone still to this day raves about the quality of the food when we see them. And the service was outstanding! We originally projected about 50 people for the luncheon. And the restaurant at 1 pm was ready for 50 people. 74 actually came and every one of them were received graciously by the restaurant and without any concern for the excessive number of people. As they realized our group was significantly larger than expected, the Floor Manager and Blon pivoted so fast by creating more space for our group, setting up more place settings with menu's and adding food in the kitchen so that no one even realized we had arrived with more people than we were expecting. THAT is NOT easy to do ... and they did it. It was seamless and well executed. Our event started about 1 pm and we finally all left about 4 pm. It was a very special event that was executed by the team at POSTA with care and love and my family and I will be eternally grateful for how thoughtfully and exceptionally the event was executed. They created a very special moment and final memory for us. I would highly recommend POSTA for any group event and for sure any personal dining. We will be back ... the food and service were that good. THANK YOU...
