First off I want to say that the review I'm posting is based on one time and one server, and not the other 2 times I have visited before tonight. I will start by saying I love the atmosphere, drinks, and music, and will keep coming back here. But if what I experienced tonight was after my first time visiting, or a regular occurrence, I would not/will not be back. My friend and I were met with a server tonight that forgot our order twice and was more interested in settling bills with his tables than getting drinks out for the tables that were still there. We came in around 11 to meet friends and were told who our server was, we waited a good while before he came to our table. He took our order and proceeded to the bar, after about 5 minutes he came back to our table and asked us what we ordered again. Honest mistake forgetting drink orders, no biggy... he returned with our drinks but screwed up the order, so my friend had to wait until he surfaced again to tell him her order was wrong. He apologized and brought her right drink order, brownie points! Everything went ok until we needed another drink, he didn't surface AGAIN for about 30 minutes (was busy at the bar settling up bills) and when he came over he took our orders, but this time forgot about them. By this time our other friends had to leave so approached the bar to settle up, my friend and I waited for our drinks but never got them, but I was able to get my drink after he came up to us expressing concern about two other people that were at the table with us (but we didn't know) because they didn't pay their bill, I slipped in my drink order in and a few minutes later and got half of it (the shot without the chaser) and stood around with the shot for about 20 minutes trying to find him to get the chaser and my friends drink order before shooting it and walking up to the bar to get our bill. I gave a tip (that was enough for my friend and I) and my friend didn't. Honestly after the lack of service we received tonight I didn't blame her. As we were getting ready to leave the server happened to reappear and walked up to her and told her "In Canada, we tip.", then when he passed by us he muttered something else to us that I am not going to write here based on assumptions, but lets just say it wasn't a nice word. Listen, get off your high horse. You forgot our order and disappeared for a good chunk of the night, unlike our server last time who came to check up on our table numerous times and was very attentive. She received a good tip because she deserved it. You received nothing because of your lack of service. To your response to my friend, "in...

I liked the restaurant as soon as I walked in, very decorated for Halloween, its shows effort on the part of the staff/management. The wood tables and extensive bar first come to mind, it was very warm and inviting. I did not have to wait long for a table, maybe 5 minutes. Two persons just left and the table needed to be bussed. The tables seat 6, a great concept to ensure guests can have larger parties or you can meet new people with ease.
Our server was great, he was nice, friendly, and also got drinks and food orders correct and in great time My girl had two prosecco cocktails and I, an old fashioned. The old fashioned was great, bitter, with the burnt orange, I would give it 8/10. Tried the prosecco, it was ok not my style drink, but she loved it.
The food is where they shined. I wasn’t sure what to get, so I ordered the “big boss Platter” it comes with a little bit of everything on the menu.
Chili – hearty, flavorful, the favorite of the foods, 10/10, I highly recommend it The ribs: 8 ribs – great fall off the bone meat, saucy, flavor was so good, 8/10 another recommendation The chips: crispy and well spiced, 8/10 Fries - well spiced and fresh 7/10 Fried chicken – crispy, great spice and flavor, moist and tender, another recommendation. 9/10 Chicken wings – good wings, nothing to complain about, 7/10 Pickled veg: not bad, a little vinegary 7/10, good portion size Beef brisket: The least impressive of the platter, it was decent but with so many options it came last 6/10 Corn: great addition, juicy and spiced, can’t go wrong 10/10 There were sauces included and they were also delicious, a spicy mayo, a chimichurri, hot sauce and bbq sauce.
When we finished the food we were stuffed of course. The table later occupied by 4 other people, we met the two sitting next to use and shared a few words on the night and food. The server asked us if we needed anything as a good waiter should and we got the bill and we talked a bit more before leaving, we weren’t rushed to leave.
Overall I had a fantastic evening. The staff was great; the vibe at the restaurant is awesome, the music was contemporary, the food was PHENOMENOL. They have a huge drink selection for any customer. I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone. I will be...
Read moreRegrettably, I would not recommend Door Fifty Five even though; I met my now husband there on a cold night in January.
As a Port Credit Local who has dinned at every establishment, and worked in the restaurant industry in my younger years; I can say that the food and drinks at Door FiftyFive are average pub style and price points.
The design is nice, the culture is sub-par, however; the safety concerns for Women, drinking or non drinking, do not get a star.
Once, a well mannered and tipping customer, I will not return after witnessing two incidents against Women (verbal and unwanted attention including touching ) go unaddressed by management.
The Woman was banned and the Owner/Establishment/Management Team said it was his choice "because he owns a restaurant and can do what he wants". * This message was delivered by members of the Management Team upon questioning.
So, I reported this to the local authorities.
I don’t particularly approve of such behaviors and have taken my business elsewhere. Especially, after two young women, tragically, left a bar in the neighborhood, only for one to be brutally murdered.
Region of Peel, you can do better to protect Women.
I have zero tolerance for any Owners/Establishments who tout that they can behave in ways that do in fact leave other's vulnerable and allow for others to prey on these vulnerable persons, of all abilities. *
All in all, if you are a Musician seeking to play, those that do perform here are well known in the community and if you play here, get along with others, you may find opportunities here.
The culture is standard across the bar scene in Port Credit. What you see is what you get. If you don’t know or participate in certain lifestyle activities be prepared to wait in line.
Looking forward to the new restaurant chain prospectively moving into Port Credit or Square One that is both trendy and timeless.
Edited as per response: Thank you: I have sent further feedback at the email provided. I hope that going forward, your Owner/Establishment/Staff take the necessary precautions to ensure that the Women in your establishment are safe and...
