Hidden in north in Mississauga - really happy I found this place! The reviews are legit - the food is excellent! I ordered a large JERK PORK dinner, and there was a ton of food! As I had not been there before , I asked the young woman at the counter what she would recommend! It cost me around $18 but you don't think about any of that when you get into the spice of the pork and how well it is worked in, layered and succulent - the bark is just perfect! The rice was light and flavourful, and the coleslaw was so smooth + slightly sweet and so complimentary to the rice and pork! The place looks like a local hangout with posters of weekend events and people who quietly go about their business and enjoy the food. Equally, there was a steady stream of take out customers as well (perhaps truckers?) as the area has a truck stop and is industrial. This was just a really good meal! Service was good and there is parking around the lot so that is no problem. I'm really looking forward to going and trying other dishes (although I would go back for the pork again). Check it out if you are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs soon as we walked into this place we were greeted with big smiles. Even though itās Caribbean, the women who cook are Jamaican. If you know about Jamaican cooking, you know the food is gonna be good.
We donāt even know where to start. The ackee and salt fish was amazing! It was flavourful. We had the cornmeal porridge and plantain porridge where were amazing especially dipping our festival in it (so good)! The patties were delicious and well-seasoned with a little spice. If youāve had patties before, you know that seasoning can be hit or miss. This seasoning was a hit.
We ate with family at the restaurant and we felt comfortable in there. It was inviting and probably started with the smiles we were greeted with.
All in all, we liked it so much we went back the next day for breakfast (which they have).
Go try this place out. Youāll enjoy the food if you want Jamaican...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a find! My family gets Caribbean at least once a week whether itās jerk chicken, oxtail, or goat. We are in the Brampton area. Iāve tried all of the reported best and have our favourite spot or two. But this one is right up there and might take the trophy.
This place deserves more respect than the Snow clearing contractor gives it. I got a curry goat and jerk chicken combo and all the flavours were unique but true to tradition. Too many spots in Ontario taper down the heat or lack flavor. This spot was full on flavour with light heat. Their other food options looked terrific as well.
I could only eat half this meal. Iām 260 pounds and came hungry. The Patrons in the restaurant had thick Jamaican accent, which made me feel like I was visiting a spot on the island. Iām definitely repeating and making sure my boys give...
