Shawarma Royale — Restaurant in Mississauga

I would give this place five stars for taste, freshness, overall food quality but I find their packing is getting more and more sloppy! Today my food arrived on Uber Eats with the package open at the sides, the sauce all over the inner lid, smeared and ugly, and everything popping out almost out of the box! The box did not close competently, it was of poor quality perhaps or the food was shovelled into it without any care!!! I love the food, but I am increasingly frustrated by the poor packing. Also, I asked specifically for hot sauce on the side and it was not there -- this happens often!! A pity that they are careless in these two aspects.

I had another issue with Shawarma Royale on October 6th. I am mentioning this because the restaurant responded below and asked me to call them. I don't know why they are saying that because they have not dealt with my issue well. I really like the food here so as I said above, I made another order on October 6th. But the Chicken Shawarma Salad that I ordered ( through Uber Eats) was really poor in terms of quality because there were no sauces, just a light coating of tahini I think, and also, there was virtually no salad , just a hint of tiny cucumber pieces and pickles. I called and spoke to a lady who told me that 1) they had a new person on the job and that person had not processed my order correctly, and 2) that I should reorder that specific item again and she would ask Uber to refund that item. I immediately ordered another Chicken Shawarma Salad. But then the same lady called back and said she could not ask Uber for a refund, I had to do it. I searched but for some reason, I forget now, there was no number to call or maybe they did not respond, so I did an online request for a refund and called the restaurant back, asking if they could give me the Uber number to call. You know what? The lady who had spoken to me, had left!! The lady in her place had no idea what I was talking about. So I had to explain the whole thing to her. She said she did not know how she could help as I had to contact Uber. I took a photo of the dish and sent it to Uber but the problem was that the sauces were missing and the salad was also very very sparse!! You can’t see that in a photo. Uber replied, saying they could not refund the item. By now I had two orders of the same dish, paid for, including Uber Eats charges etc etc. I called the restaurant again and asked if they could refund the item, but they said no, we can't. I kept on corresponding with Uber Eats and finally, they were kind enough to refund the cost of that one item to me. My experience exhausted me. Now, I feel like ordering from this restaurant again, but I hold back because I don't want to have another bad experience. And because I complained, maybe they won't send me a decent dish again, I don't know. I used to hold back and not complain, but this was in the past. Now, I feel that unless we individuals stand up and call organizations to account, they will not change their mode of behaviour. I would like to know what they will do if...

Fantastic place to try something new besides lazeez!! The incredible smell from outside is so multidimensional and heavenly , it just lures you in. I have to say that it was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. Everyone was all smiles right from when we walked in, ordered and collected our food. Everyone made us feel welcomed like family. The chicken was so flavourful and delicious, you could also really taste the freshness and quality. I am interested in trying the lamb and falafel next! I also really enjoyed the fact that you could get a regular sized bowl with your choice of base (salad, rice, fries, half and half) and then your choice of shawarma meat on top. Or you could get it all in a box that comes with coleslaw, pickles, turnips and chillies! I love eating my shawarma with pickled turnips!! But I always have to pay extra just for a little bit. Here, they give so much extra for a small cost. The pickled veggies and coleslaw also came with extra garlic sauce, hot sauce and pomegranate sauce! I didn’t even have to ask!! But not only do they have the traditional garlic and tahini sauces (of which they add copious and equal amounts) they also have pomegranate sauce and chipotle sauce so you can change it up or add on whenever you want! I have tried different shawarma places in this region but none of them could match shawarma royale's standards and taste. We generally get their platter (with half lamb and half chicken) and it's mouth wateringly delicious. Their meat is super moist and yummy (unlike some shawarma outlets i know that let their chicken go too dry). Their garlic sauce is also wonderful. I also love their crispy fries. All in all, perfect shawarma place: clean and delectable. We get food from here every week and will continue to do so. The chef/owner is so kind and friendly: on our last visit my husband went in with my baby boy. My baby waved and babbled at this gentleman, and he was super friendly and cordial in response. He ended up giving us a complementary yummy dessert because he adored the baby so much. And then he also helped my husband carry the platter to the car since he was carrying the baby.
