RE-VISIT on Good Friday April 18, 2025: EVERYTHING stated below remains the same !!!! CROWDED...and lined up (A HINT: although NO RESERVATIONS ON HOLIDAYS or WEEKENDS....leaving the house fairly close by on this holiday morning we put our name on the website WAIT LIST and our table for 4 was ready almost as soon as we got there....) Expect some slower service as they are PACKED AT STACKED....... One slight complaint.......coffee was a bit weak this morning and the decaf was HORRIBLE ! Perhaps too quick a pot turnover and not sufficient time to brew........
Relatively new (July 2023) to west Mississauga in the former GHOST KITCHENS (what was THAT all about during COVID???) on the east side of SOUTH COMMON MALL. STACKED is a CANADIAN COMPANY originating in BC and AB in 2016 and now with many locations throughout Ontario. It survived the COVID CRISIS so that has something to say about its food credibility and significance. STACKED IS PACKED (open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. only....SMART!!!!) during the weekdays and especially on the weekends when they understandably do NOT take reservations. Today was a quick check in with the QR code at the entrance but another at least a 20 minute wait at about 10:15 and longer when we left about an hour later. The menu is absolutely HUGE as are the obscenely (American-sized) massive portions. I SERIOUSLY SUGGEST the BREAKFAST FOR 2 or 4 if it's your first time trying out this place (or the weekday $7 BREAKFAST SPECIAL portions). But after a longggg time viewing their menu options on-line we decided upon the STACKED HASH ($18), the CANADIAN HASH ($17) and the CREME EGG PANCAKES ($14). (There are so many options ranging in portions and prices so check the menu out online before you go!!!!) HUGE plates full of hash browns topped with meaty selections and two eggs of your choice. There is a LOT here so I did not order the toast but I was told the RYE was extremely good. It came with some delicious house-made strawberry jam and we bought a jar as well ($6.99). We didn't finish half of these so they came home for other (three!!!) meals...
Read moreI was very happy to see that a breakfast place had opened in our neighbourhood, especially one that I had never heard of before. Since breakfast is arguably my favourite meal of the day, we decided to try Stacked. We were welcomed by a cheerful staff who promptly seated us in the contemporary and brightly decorated dining room. Our server, Anthony, warmly introduced himself and immediately asked us if we wanted anything to drink. We asked for water and coffee which came promptly. My wife, who usually eats smaller portions, opted for the early bird special of two eggs, sausage, home fries and toast. Intrigued by something you don't often see on breakfast menus, I ordered the Mexican omelette. After about a 20-minute wait (I have had quicker breakfast service, to be honest), our food came and was pleased to see that it was well-plated. My wife's simple dish was satisfactory while my Mexican omelette was quite colourful as it was topped with guacamole and Pico de Gallo (fresh salsa). Stacked's version of Mexican omelette includes regular breakfast sausage, sweet peppers, onions, mozzarella, buffalo sauce topped with the aforementioned guac and pico, served with home fries and toast. Overall, it was delicious and cooked just right. However, I barely noticed the sausage as I am accustomed to having chorizo in a "Mexican" or Tex-Mex dish with its spicy flavour pop. The buffalo sauce gave it the spiciness it needed. The accompanying home fries were nicely crispy and generously portioned. And, oh, their homemade strawberry jam is fresh-tasting and not too sweet, unlike other jams. We bought a jar to enjoy at home. The food and service quality of Stacked rivals that of Pur & Simple, a breakfast chain that stands above the others. We will likely skip the other 5-6 breakfast places within a 10-minute drive from now on in favour of Stacked. We look forward to returning for an...
Read moreI know that people usually gloss over 5☆ reviews, assuming that most are unreliable or bots, but this place was seriously good! Came as a tourist with my family and was not disappointed in the slightest. This restaurant is small, but very cozy with warm, amicable, & attentive servers. The portions are fairly large (but not too big) and delicious, too! We ordered a Waffle Stack, a Homestyle Omelette, a Meatlover's Omelette, some normal Pancakes, and Toast & Jam to share — and all of them were great! The others also got a coffee each, whilst I got a Mocha. The coffees were all nicely hot and the mocha was both pretty and delicious! As for the food, it was also excellent: the eggs were soft & perfectly seasoned, the sausages were perfect, the bacon was nice, and the waffles were fantastic (not too sweet and went perfectly with its condiments). While the "homefries" were a bit too salty for my liking, they were still good, and wholly made up for by this place's heavenly jam! The jam really was rightfully a clientelle-favorite, being visibly fresh and authentic while matching perfectly with both the toast it came with and the waffles! Even the bathrooms were surprisingly nice, with well-temperatured water, clean facilities, and paper towels that were placed just right to easily open the door then toss them in the garbadge. The family bathroom was also fully accesible, complete with a changing station and a handicap button to operate the door. There similarly are handicap buttons to enter and exit the building. Overall a wonderful experience that I would greatly recommend. I would rate this a 4.9/5 — I'm glad this was my first experience...
