12th Visit: Had the Longhorn burger (1/3 pound patties, love the crisp onions) and the butter chicken poutine (diced chicken, butter chicken sauce over crunchy fries, squeaky cheese curds, and gravy). Ordered the lime daiquiri on the rocks first (my fav) rimmed with half salt and half sugar. Then ordered a lime margarita on the rocks, and a raspberry margarita on the rocks (both rimmed half-half). I've concluded I like lime the most, and it's a distant second to strawberry, and then finally to raspberry (just too bitter/sweet for me). Ordered another Longhorn burger. Gonna continue ordering my lime drinks rimmed half-half because I like the variety.
--- Gonna try these drinks: blue lagoon, tequila sunrise, p star, s on the beach, fuzzy navel, peach bellini, bahama mama, Florida tracksuit, tijuana lady, carribean spritzer, peach kiss, fuzzy bunny, beer michelada, mai tai, appletini, amaretto, old fashioned, manhattan, whiskey ginger, gimlet, tom collins, vesper, paloma, sidecar, moscow mule, mint julep, (Future - ask if they have any mango/peach drinks). Gonna try these foods: chimichanga, fish and chips, 33 oz ribeye steak, 12 oz carne asada steak, (also ask them what the dish is that they always get after they clock out, the plate with the bowl on top).
11th Visit: Had 2 lbs of wings: 1 lb of honey garlic wings with fries, and 1 lb of moonshine BBQ wings (+$2) with fries. Chicken was tender and juicy. I actually prefer the honey garlic wings over the moonshine BBQ. I had ranch and blue cheese sauce, enjoyed both, the blue cheese was more tart, I like the zinging flavour. Drinks: I ordered a Brown Cow, and then a White Russian. I prefer Brown Cow, because it's Kahlua + milk and is smoother. There is no spike (tastes more like an espresso martini), vs White Russian where it's cream, and vodka. I would order the Brown Cow again if I was looking for a sweet chocolate milkshake type drink.
10th Visit: What a fun experience. I had the Texas Longhorn burger (Great, thick patty. Fresh and high quality. Good ratio of veggies, especially the crisp onions which I love). Also had 3 Caesars, 1 with each type of liquor, laid out in front of me in alphabetical order.
Caesar with Gin - good lime/pine needles/bitter flavour. Good if you want something more bitter/zesty/piquant in flavour. Caesar with Tequila: Spicy, exciting flavour. Good if you want something that stimulates your palate. This one is the most intense and has the most depth. I can see why the bartenders say this is their favourite. Caesar with Vodka: This is the classic Caesar and liquor combo. This is good if you want something smooth and plainer. Good if you want to enjoy the spices and tomato and clam juice in the Caesar as the centre of attention, and want to have the alcohol taste in the background.
Then, for fun, I moved all of my lemons into 1 water, and all of my limes into a 2nd water. I've concluded I like lemons as an everyday drink if I want something crisp/vibrant/citrus-y in flavour, and the limes if I want something out of the ordinary/zesty/piquant in flavour.
I recommend ordering 3 Caesars all at once, in all 3 different liquors, and trying out the various tasting notes. Cool experience.
9th Visit: Came in the evening. Ordered the calamari and a caesar. Then had the 10 oz NY strip steak prefer NY striploin over top sirloin, greek salad (great ratio), and sauteed mushrooms (my fav, prefer over sauteed onions). Then ordered a lime daiquiri on the rocks (salt on rim), but they ran out of lime mix so I had a strawberry daiquiri on the rocks (In the future, I will order this frozen. Cuz on the rocks just tastes like strawberry cough syrup, Also, I prefer lime daiquiris [on the rocks, salt on rim] over strawberry daiquiris [sugar on rim].
8th Visit: Had the Canada Day long weekend Make Your Own Combo meal (2 entrees and fries). Had a pound of chicken wings (tangy mango sauce), an 8 oz steak (medium rare), and fries. Along with a Spicy Caesar.
Everything tasted great, recommend the tangy mango sauce...
Read more22nd Visit: Came in the evening for a late dinner. I had a Caesar with gin, greek salad - with half rack of ribs and sauteed mushrooms, 1 x chicken wings in lemon pepper rub, and 1 x chicken wings in tangy mango rub. Then had another Caesar, with tequila. Everything tasted great, I've confirmed I love the lemon pepper and tangy mango rubs as my consistently favourite chicken wing sauces.
--- Gonna try these drinks: tequila sunrise, p star, s on the beach, fuzzy navel, peach bellini, bahama mama, Florida tracksuit, tijuana lady, carribean spritzer, peach kiss, fuzzy bunny, beer michelada, mai tai, appletini, amaretto, old fashioned, manhattan, whiskey ginger, gimlet, tom collins, vesper, paloma, sidecar, mint julep, (Future - ask if they have any mango/peach drinks). Gonna try these foods: chimichanga, fish and chips, 33 oz ribeye steak, beef ribs, (the dish they always get after they clock out, the plate with the bowl on top - I think it's the spinach dip plate/potato skins), meat lover's burger, and tiramisu/mango milkshake.
21st Visit: Came in the evening for a late dinner (24Aug22 - very eventful day for me [markets rallied off USA JB SL Forgiveness]). In a great mood. Rachel (works Tuesdays and Wednesdays) was there (Wish Lillie was there still too though). I had a Caesar with gin, then my food came out in this order: fish tacos + calamari sauce x2, half rack ribs with greek salad and sauteed mushrooms, chicken wings (lemon pepper). I ate all the meats with my hands and it felt glorious. 3 mixes of meats, felt through my fingertips, and I just felt tapped in and primal. Then had another Caesar with tequila. 2 lemons, squeezed into my water. Everything tasted amazing. Didn't finish it all. Took 4 wings and a calamari sauce as takeout.
20th Visit: Came in the evening. Had the chicken gigante quesadilla - great. Then had 2 lime margaritas on the rocks, rimmed half sugar half salt. A regular (Neil) was there and bought me a margarita and a Jameson whiskey shot. Then had the chicken wings in lemon pepper sauce (dry rub) - extremely tasty - appreciate the bite of the black pepper, citrus from the lemon, and crunch of the fried chicken. Gave a chicken wing to Neil and he enjoyed it too. This sauce and tangy mango (wet rub) are probably my fav sauces for chicken wings. My wings didn't come with fries this time which was kind of annoying. I mentioned it to the bartender, but she did nothing about it. I wish they would give my usual bartenders (Lillie and Rachel) more hours.
19th Visit: Had the chicken gigante quesadilla (interior had chicken, cheese, peppers, onions, served with sour cream and guac) and a lime daquiri on the rocks, rimmed half sugar half salt. Then had the 16 oz carne asada steak medium rare with a greek salad and sauteed mushrooms. Then had a mojito. Everything tasted great. In the future, I'd like to order quesadillas in the following meats: carne asada, top sirloin, chicken (again), shrimp (depends on my mood), and fish (depends on my mood). The carne asada steak - I enjoyed. It's a long and fleshy flank steak. It's more fleshy than my usual NY striploin, and I enjoy the fleshiness more than a top sirloin (my least favourite cut of steak).
18th Visit: Had the 10 oz NY striploin with greek salad and sauteed mushrooms as my side. Added on the blooming onion (fantastic, one of my fav items on the menu - big fat juicy onion fried fresh and served beautifully). I got the calamari sauce to dip my steak and blooming onion pieces into, scrumptious (by default, the blooming onion came with the spicy marinara sauce - it was good, but too sour to me, but Neil preferred it over the calamari sauce). Another regular (Neil) was there, I cut off and shared about 1/4 of my blooming onion with him, we chatted about Caribana for a bit, etc. Had 2 Caesars, 1 with tequila and 1 with gin as the liquors. If I had to rank my Caesar preferences, it would be: Tequila (spicy), Vodka (smooth), Gin (zesty). Also I gotta come in on the lunch shift to order mojitos from the Cuban bartender who makes them really...
Read more7th visit: Had Thursday AYCE ribs. Caesar. And Lime Daiquiri on the rocks - wow this one was good, the rum and lime pairs together so well. One of my fav drinks. Ribs came only in Smokey Bbq Rib sauce. Future - try ordering a half rack of ribs in Honey Garlic sauce.
--- I'm gonna try ordering the following drinks: caesar with gin/tequila instead of vodka, appletini, amaretto, old fashioned, manhattan, whiskey ginger, gimlet, tom collins, vesper, paloma, sidecar, moscow mule, mint julep, daiquiri, white russian, brown cow. Food: I want to try the butter chicken poutine, chimichanga, fish and chips, 33 oz ribeye steak.
6th visit: Had a gin martini with extra olives extra dirty, and a pina colada. With a 20 oz T-Bone porterhouse steak, cooked medium rare, with side greek salad and side sauteed onions. Also ordered a poutine. Realized I don't like gin martinis. In the future, I might order a red wine or a caesar to accompany my steak. Pina Colada was good, had too much ice. I might request the bartender to serve it in a tulip glass instead of margarita glass in the future. Steak was great, juicy, tender, and flavourful. Greek salad good, but too much lettuce, not enough onions. My sauteed onions complemented steak great, prefer the sauteed onions over mushrooms. Poutine was amazing. Thick fries, squeaky cheese curds and gravy.
5th visit: Had a gin and tonic, mojito, the 8 oz top sirloin steak (rare this time, but gonna order it medium rare in the future), and the 10 oz NY striploin steak (medium rare - my preference for the future) with greek salad and sauteed mushrooms. I prefer the NY striploin (wider, thinner, more marbling) over the top sirloin (narrower, less marbling, thicker - too fleshy for me). Added a blooming onion with calamari dipping sauce. Also side note: the beef tacos (which are my fav - my taco preferred order is carne asada beef, chicken, pulled pork, fish [fried fish sticks], shrimp [coconut shrimp]) and the beef goes really well with the chimichurri sauce.
4th visit: Had the full rack of ribs, with a fully loaded potato and greek salad, and a Caesar, and a Bloody Mary. The full rack of ribs were great, very juicy and tasted amazing. The fully loaded potato was meh (I'm not a huge baked potato fan). It came loaded with sour cream and chives. I ordered the Caesar and Bloody Mary to try them out vs each other since they're very similar drinks. I've concluded I prefer the Caesar over the Bloody Mary because the clamato in Caesars just adds an extra layer of depth and umami flavour.
3rd Visit: Had the Fisherman's poutine for lunch, and a pina colada. It's poutine covered in seafood sauce, there isn't actually seafood meat in the poutine which was a bit disappointing. It tasted fine, portions were small, the poutine comes in a narrow and shallow plate. I probably wouldn't order this again.
2nd Visit: I ordered the fried Blooming Onion with Ranch sauce, and barbecue sauce on the side. Tasted great. I prefer the ranch sauce more than the barbecue sauce.
Drinks I had: I had a frozen lime, and frozen strawberry Margarita, (I like them frozen vs on the rocks, and prefer lime over strawberry), and also a pina colada which was my favourite of the 3.
I had a half rack of ribs, and had a greek salad and sauteed mushrooms as my 2 sides. Everything tasted great, and good service. I wish the greek salad (too much lettuce) had more olives, onions, and feta cheese though.
1st Visit: Came by for their AYCE Taco Tuesdays. Was a great experience.
I had a Caesar, lime Margarita on the rocks, and had 1 of each of their: beef, chicken, fish, pulled pork, and coconut shrimp tacos. Also had complimentary nachos and salsa.
In order, I liked the beef, pulled pork, chicken, fish, and coconut shrimp tacos the best. Personal taste preferences: the fish was too fried for my liking, and the fried shrimp was too coconut-y. I probably won't order the shrimp again. The Caesar was great, complemented the Mexican flavours well. Same with the lime Margarita on the rocks.
Great dining experience, will...
