The Great Wok of China — Restaurant in Mississauga

Myself & my family have been going to the wok for over 30 Years., and have always loved the food & the service. Over the last couple of years i feel at the level service has gone way down, and I don't know if the chefs keep. changing, but the food is now longer enjoyable, I keep going back to see if anything has changed and & the food & service has been brought back up to satisfaction again, but sadly Im very disappointed each time. My last visit was Thursday Feb 12th as I meet up with a friend I hadn't seen for. Couple of years, & again I was so disappointed & I wished we had gone somewhere else. First off, the soup was luke warm, I had the # 5 with a spring (which I always loved )' it was so well done & a dark color the ends were burnt , the whole thing was hard. I would never serve something like that to anyone, my friend had the #4 and her egg roll was also the same. I got my meal served to me, and my friend never got hers till about 5 minutes later, both the meals should have ben served at the same time as we were only two at out table & the restaurant was not busy at all, as it was 2:00 in the afternoon. When they did bring my friends meal out the waitress said he forgot to put the lemon chicken on the plate, and we hd to wait for about 5 minutes for her to bring out the lemon chicken to complete the meal, THIS SHOULD HAVE NEVER OF HAPPENED . Im very sorry to say that my last visit to the Wok last week will be my very last time I will go to the restaurant for a meal , or will my family be there for a family dinner for 'mother's day special, as we have been coming to the restaurant for mothers day for over 25 years. I think it is time to look at your business before you loose more customers. Also a little note that ir is time that the restaurant gets a little makeover. The de ore has never change in Ll these years.

A unsatisfied...

I went in there on good Friday for a beer and some Chinese food. I shop at the mall all the time, and have often wondered about this place. I was alone, It honestly felt like I was being watched the whole time (like I was going to run out). I ordered a beer which was $5.75 a bottle. Chinese restaurants used to have notoriously cheap beer. I started with a bowl of won-ton soup. It had 1 piece of pork and 3 won-tons in a completely flavorless broth. I ordered the chicken and green beans in black bean sauce and was brought something completely different. which had onions (which I stated clearly that i cannot eat at the beginning) piled high. I asked for my cheque. No apology. I will never return. They have lost me and anyone I may have recommended this place to. The waiter who screwed up my meal actually said "no tip?" as I left. Oh my god, its any wonder they are in business at all. The people who give this place good reviews have obviously never had really good chinese food. Honestly, anything I needed to know about the quality of their food was confirmed in that teacup-sized bowl of bland won-ton soup. I'm glad they got my order wrong. You got the only 16 dollars you will ever see from me or anyone I know....

Little hidden gem at Central parkway and Burnhamthorpe, most people that lives in Mississauga probably knows this plaza as the place you go to get your passport. Awesome Chinese food here their dishes have really good wok hei, everything comes out piping hot and fast. When they bring out your food they also bring out warming stands with a tea light inside that keeps your food hot as you eat. The portions are very generous, we had 3 dishes of food and we had enough food left for 2 days worth of lunch. The pad thai is very good and slightly spicy. Pad thai usually comes with crushed peanuts on top but not here, the crushed peanuts can be added upon request. The reason they don't serve with the crushed peanuts is because too many people have nut allergies. The deep fried spicy pork chops was very crispy and spicy as the name suggest. The fried beans yummy hot and fresh. The restaurant has enough space for a small party of probably 100 people. They also do take away and delivery as well as lunch specials during the weekdays. Expect to see me check in...
