Union Social Eatery — Restaurant in Mississauga

I have been to this restaurant several times and this is by far the worst experience I have had. When we arrived for our reservation, on time might I add, we were disappointed to find the table without cutlery or plates. Not sure if this is standard practice these days but this was an issue after we received our appetizers. We ordered our appetizers and entrees at the same time to save time. Not sure what happened but our appetizers took more than 40 minutes to come out and our entrees took over 90 minutes to arrive. Even though we had a large group (10) if we ordered everything at once it shouldn't 90 minutes especially when 2 in our group didn't ordered entrees. Then there was multiple mix ups when the food finally did arrive and two of the steak frites ordered were way undercooked. One person in our group had to send their steak back twice because the chefs clearly didn't know how to handle a steak. It was chewy to the point the steak knife couldn't cut the meat. The waiter had to be asked to clear our table. It looked to us that he was overwhelmed with the size of our group and had no help from the manager or other staff. The manager came to our table once to drop off two plates and never returned. She didn't ask us how things were going or explained the delay since there was maybe eight other tables that were occupied by the time we had ordered. She didn't acknowledge our table once even sitting a table away and eating chicken wings while we waited for our food. At one point a group of 5 guys, who had come in an hour after us, were served drinks and already eating their appetizers before our entrees came out. We had to repeatedly ask for water and to have the plates removed from the table. We had brought a cake to celebrate a birthday. When we asked for the box back we were told they had thrown it out. Thankfully they cut up the rest of the cake and put it in takeout containers. It was a frustrating night especially since it was nowhere near busy. We usually go to Union Social Eatery to celebrate birthdays. We even had a party of 30 plus, pre-pandemic, for a surprise party at this location. However, after tonight I will not be returning...

From the moment you step into Union Social Eatery, it’s clear that this is not your average dining experience. The ambiance is modern and inviting, with a relaxed yet upscale vibe that makes it perfect for both casual outings and special occasions.

The service was impeccable, and I have to give a special shoutout to my server, Hudson. This young man was truly outstanding—attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He made great recommendations and was genuinely invested in making our experience memorable. When I asked for extra, extra pickles on my sandwich, Hudson didn’t miss a beat—he not only made it happen but made sure I was set with an abundance of crispy, tangy pickles that took the meal to the next level. His enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile were so appreciated!

Now, the food—absolutely outstanding! Every dish was a delightful fusion of flavors, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend starting with the crispy calamari, which was tender and perfectly seasoned. For the main course, the juicy burger were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the fresh salad on the side were a perfect complement. The cocktails were also exceptional, with creative twists on classic drinks.

What really sets Union Social Eatery apart is the attention to detail. It’s clear that the chefs take great pride in their work, and the menu feels both innovative and comforting at the same time. Every bite was a reminder of why this place has earned such rave reviews.

I rarely write reviews for bartenders/servers, but after the exceptional experience we had with Reni at union social eatery, I felt compelled to share. Our last visit was marred by less-than-stellar service, so we were a bit apprehensive about returning. However, Reni completely transformed our experience, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

From the moment we sat down, Reni's warmth and friendliness were immediately apparent. He greeted us with a genuine smile and took the time to understand our preferences, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring that every detail was perfect. His attentiveness was remarkable—he managed to be available without being intrusive, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask.

What stood out the most was Reni’s exceptional service. He made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table, and his positive attitude and professionalism turned our evening around. It was clear that he genuinely cares about his craft and takes pride in providing an outstanding dining experience.

We haven’t encountered this level of service at a restaurant before, and Reni’s dedication truly set a new standard. His impact on our evening was profound, and we left with a renewed appreciation for excellent hospitality.

The food was great we got the chicken bow ties pasta and buttery buffalo wings which was up there with the best bar wings around.
