Canadian Cafe Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Mississippi Mills

I don’t complain about food generally, but this was an experience Ive never had before. We were excited for chinese food and it looked so good from the website! The lady was very nice, and no issue with the people or service. We ordered and everything was fine, we picked up, and paid. Then we ate… and everything was bland and almost weird tasting. i LOVE fried rice, and this was just something else in a bad way. To further disappoint, price didnt match what was shown online. We were also short a meal. Having paid $51 we received $35 of food (according to their website). Thank you for making food when we were hungy, but what we recieved was disappointing for taste, upset tummies, and price. Pleasantly surprised at how good this food is. Been trying Chinese places in the area and have been disappointed in the past, but had been missing out by bypassing this little place. Atmosphere rated low because it is clearly dated, however it was SPOTLESS inside.

Egg rolls are closed ended and taste homemade, as does the wonton soup.

The garlic chicken soo guy was very good. The ginger chicken with noodles was flavourful and the noodles had a great crisp to them. The chow mein was tasty and the fried rice was really good.

All in all we will be ordering again and sampling new dishes next...

We only ever order from 1 restaurant as we’ve tried many that don’t compare... we weren’t to sure about this place but we just moved to almonte and figured we should give it a try.

Chicken balls are amazing, as was the chicken fried rice! General toa chicken was also very delicious. Breaded shrimp was good but wish there wasn’t as much breading - twice as much breading than shrimp. Egg rolls are also delicious.

Price is fair, pick up was quick, and I spent $45 and there is definitely enough to feed 4 adults. Will order again when we don’t feel like making the drive to our usual...
