My family and I, along with a special friend, visited Tea And Cake for the first time—and what a lovely experience! This quaint little spot in the heart of Almonte has such a cozy, homey vibe. The food was delicious and the portions were generous for the price. They offer a nice selection of sandwiches, salads, desserts, and drinks. We had the chicken pesto melt on sourdough and the roasted chicken wrap, both served with fresh spinach salad (with honey balsamic and poppy seed dressings) and a Caesar salad on the side. Everything was fresh and flavorful. And the desserts—wow! The raspberry pie was to die for. The chocolate peanut butter brownie and the cinnamon coffee cake were really good too. Chai latte in oat milk was delicious! Perfect sweet ending to a great meal. Our server Jaime was incredibly kind and accommodating—she answered all our menu questions and even let us in early for our reservation when we finished exploring the town ahead of schedule. Service was excellent! They also offer afternoon tea for $25/person, which we didn’t try this time but definitely plan to next visit. The ambiance is charming and relaxed—perfect for a lunch stop or even breakfast. Highly recommend if you're in town!

We had Afternoon Tea here a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it. The price point is VERY low ($25 per person) so it was a nice change of pace from the expensive hotel tea experiences. This is a very small cafe so reserve in advance if you want a table for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were fresh and the sweets were made in-house or locally. The scone was the best bite; delicious! We were sad that there was no clotted cream here for the scone but we did add-on one lemon curd (+ $2.50) which was a nice touch. Would recommend they add Clotted Cream for an additional charge too, to eat with the lovely scones: it's a quintessential part of afternoon tea. Service was "just okay" when we went and could be improved. Overall, this was a nice inexpensive afternoon tea experience .

The atmosphere is both elegant and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you could happily spend hours catching up with friends. Whether you’re planning a birthday party, a bridal shower, or just a cozy afternoon with friends, Cake & Tea is an ideal venue. They even offer private bookings for small groups and are wonderfully accommodating with special requests. In a town already known for its charm and community spirit, Cake & Tea adds just the right amount of sweetness. A must-visit for cake lovers, coffee drinkers, and anyone looking to make beautiful memories over dessert. 🍰☕

Recently we had a bridal shower party, and the bride requested a high tea type of party. I decided to have Tea and Cake cater the party for me to make things a bit easier. They were very responsive during the process and very patient with my loads of questions. I had asked specifically if the high afternoon tea ordered for 7 adults (there were 6 of us and the bride had a different plate of food) would be enough food. They responded with a yes and there would be leftovers. I was very disappointed after spending all of that money to find out that we didn't have enough - that didn't even include the brides own separate plate of gluten free items. The rest of us were left with very little sandwiches etc. I ended up having to cut up vegetables to somewhat fill in the gap. We were all left hungry after. They also forgot the tea for the party but mentioned they would leave me a GC for the mistake - which I thought was kind. I sent an email to the woman I was conversing with previous to the party address the lack of food and very dry mini cupcakes. I have not heard back unfortunately. For the money I spent and what we got.. . I wouldn't recommend...

My sisters, mother and I went here to have High Tea. It cost over $100 for us and it was okay.

The server slammed tea, milk, and other "spilly" things on the table without apology. The three tiered servicing dish came with two types of church style sandwiches; cucumber and egg. They were bland...no water cress or anything to give it a "flavour" of real high tea. The scones were sweet and crumbly, served with butter. We order two servings of lemon curd for almost $3 each and they were served in a tiny little dish. The top tier consisted of pastry sweets that could have been bought at the grocery store. Very disappointing.

It was an extremely hot day and the temperature inside was even hotter. The air conditioning was blasting but not big enough for a commercial space. My sister is an HVAC specialist and commented this.

Now, I have ordered sandwiches from Tea & Cake before and they are delicious! So, maybe it was just that day was off, I'm not sure but I won't order high tea again.

If you go, I hope you have a wonderful experience. High tea is just not...
