We loved our dinner at C'est la Vie. We were welcomed and constantly paid attention to, throughout the entire dinner. Both our waitress and the food servers were very attentive and took a great care of us. We decided not to cook our own food 😉 on the hot stone and chose great menu staples istead. Escargots were to die for - juicy and plump, with the butter garlic sauce ideally complementing them. I did forgo of the offered cheese addition. Warm Goat Cheese appetizer was really great, with a toasty underlayment, a touch of honey and a well dressed salad on the side. Veal Liver was just amazing - it was very juicy, with flavorful and finely cut sautéed onions, and the sauce was fingerlicking great! We also loved the sauce served with the Duck Breast main course, although some of the duck breast pieces were a bit too chewy for my wife's taste. Both main dishes were served with a small dish of potato gratin, also well cooked carrots, parsnip and bock choy - tender but firm - exactly as they should be. The wine choices although not too abundant, were the perfect accompaniments for our dishes and were also very well priced - we had a carafe of Bordeaux. Our dessert choices - Profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce and Crème brûlée didn't disappoint, although my espresso could have been better - it had no crema whatsoever and could have been described as a strong coffee at best. Overall this dinner was well worth the trip from the ski resort, we'll be...
Read moreMy wife recommended this restaurant for us to visit after a day well spent at resort snow-boarding , I love to experiment and experience with food and my wife told me they have variety of meats, she is extremely good at picking up places but this place literally ruined my experience with food and their ridiculous prices , for mains my wife ordered duck and all they served was 100gms of duck meat grilled without dressings and then just poured over with grocery store sauce on top along with steamed vegetables , dude trust me you can do much better job at home with those ingredients without shelling out 40 bucks, I ordered hot stone for 50 bucks with three meats and all I got was roughly 125 gms of mixed meat which, were elk, deer and bison , they came on hot stone without any dressings and steamed vegetables again , but on the side they served three spoons of different dippings which is exactly kraft combo of three you buy for making kids lunch, this was pretty much of an experience which is given to prisoners, that's the amount of hard work I felt which was done with the food served , dining at their restaurant gave me much confidence to start my own next door with same ingredients bcoz there is nothing to do , all they serve is steam vegetables and just grilled meat or raw meat. University students living away from their mother can do much better job than guys in their kitchen. Just a waste of money for fancy name and overly...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to our dinner here, but were deeply disappointed due to the horrendous service. We don’t say this lightly, but they were racist and extremely disrespectful. The waitress with the glasses and ponytail showed us so much attitude right off the bat, but we looked past it as we were trying to enjoy our last dinner in Canada. However, shortly after, she aggressively asked us where to put the hot stone when we nicely asked them to place it in the middle before. Then, as we were trying to eat, we could hear the waitresses pointing and talking about us. They would also quickly place our dishes and then go back and point and giggle. Not sure how they expect the food to go down easily after that.
Lastly, as we were leaving, they argued about the tip and when we explained the situation above, one of the waitresses stated that her poor behavior was due to them being busy for the past three days? We understand people at a restaurant are busy, but stating this as an excuse for horrible behavior was truly baffling.
There are many other solid restaurant in the area, so we would strongly recommend those as everyone deserves to be treated with respect and enjoy a delicious dinner when on...
