I've been told how great of café Orr was, so I finally went to try it out.
Overall, I had a good time. The coffee was to my liking, the space was very interesting and luminous. I was there for creative work and it definitely stimulated me.
I have three negative points to highligh which brings down my rating: I'm especially sensitive to this, but the music was very loud for a café, it didn't help my focus and it drained me of my energy in a few hours. The temperature in the café was quite hot even though the weather was slight cool. I was sweaty and slightly uncomfortable. It might be a ventilation issue with the peculiar arrangement of the place. My interactions with the staff were a bit uncomfortable. I don't know if they were having a bad day, if I radiated bad vibes myself (I was tired) but I felt like I was bothering them. I'm definitely not asking for everyone to be smiling all the time but the vibes were off. I decided against getting another coffee and simply kept working.
It's definitely a cool little spot. One of the most interesting visually café I've been to in Montreal. If you don't mind the noise, the amount of people and a warm environment I'm sure you'll have...
Read moreI have to say that this may be my favourite cafe I have ever been to!! It is perfect in all the ways that matter to me most in a coffee shop. Really good food - I had the avocado toast and my boyfriend got a bagel (the serving size and quality ingredients match the prices - bagel was grilled with lots of cheese and avocado toast had so much avocado and delicious flavours), VERY aesthetic and cozy atmosphere, and good music. Somewhere I could really see myself hanging out/working in often, not to mention the amazing hours that are so hard to find in mtl. Wow! Can't wait to try chilling here in the late evenings!
The only thing it's missing is REALLY good quality coffee and well aerated milk (that might depend on the barista and it's good enough for me to come back just wouldn't only come back for the...
Read moreA must visit if you’re in Montreal. Wild interiors - quite unconventional. Liked the menu with quite a selection. We went for a Cortado, Choco Chai, Chocolate Babka and Vege-Pate Sandwich. Loved the Cortado - probably the best we’ve had in Montreal. Choco Chai was fine. Chocolate Babka and Vege-Pate Sandwich - loved it. Definitely try. The staff was nice. Can’t say friendly. The guy seemed a bit distracted but hopefully everything was okay. Interiors are quite busy and a lot to see and notice. They have too many different kinds of seating, so pick your style. There’s seating on the floor above as well as outside. There’s street parking outside which might be difficult to find during the day. We went after 10 in the night so a few spots were...
