Cafe Java U Intercontinental — Restaurant in Montreal

Tried to give this place a shot since Van Houtte kept messing up my order. I was never a fan of their coffee because it's waaay too acidic for my taste but I figure I'd at least go to them for breakfast food. It honestly doesn't matter what I ordered because after standing there for 3~5 minutes waiting for them to heat it up, it was still cold. I would have been less mad if they gave it to me cold because I would have heated it up when I got to work but the fact that they had me stand and wait to heat up a cold sandwich for it to still be cold is enough to write this place off. Normally I don't post negative reviews, but this place is really tired. From the weird, worn cushion in the middle of the cafe, to the fly-blown garbage, this place really needs some attention. It's clear that cost-cutting overrides everything this company does. There is no milk pitcher or cream pitcher, just a meager stand with some lukewarm packets of cream. The cold brew coffee was hands down the worst I've ever had - weak, insipid, watered down. They charged extra for adding almond milk, and maybe they added a tablespoon, if that. I just wanted a passable iced coffee in a relatively clean surrounding....

The only redeeming factor of this place was the staff was nice, but wow the food and coffee were terrible. I got an egg veggie sandwich and it was probably the most bland sandwich I've ever eaten in my life. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The cafe latte was also just extremely bland and pretty much just tasted like warm milk. The layout is also just extremely unappealing and doesn't have a warm feeling at all. Just super corporate looking. The portion sizes are also extremely small for the prices. You're spending 2x what you would at Tim's for...
