This has quickly become my favourite restaurant over the last year. I was never a huge fan of Portuguese Chicken restaurants that I’ve tried in the past, but I gave this a chance one day and I’ve been addicted ever since.
Although maybe a little pricier than other places, the portions are huge and they never skimp out on stuffing the plates, so it’s worth the cost.
My favorite is La Tia Tina Sandwich (pictured) which has chorizo and chicken. I typically get the non-spicy versions of their dishes and the sauce is sooo delicious. The mayo that you can get as an extra on the side is also so good to dip the fries in. If ever you’re not in the mood for the heaviness of fries, their side salads are also high quality, fresh and the salad dressing is beyond delicious and exceeds the expectations of a typical side salad.
I pickup when I can but I also have ordered through Uber numerous times (understatement - it’s a lot) and it is always prepared quick and packaged great as well, with any/all instructions followed.
Only thing to note is I’m not sure how much consistency there is across their different locations - I’ve tried two other locations and they were not up to par (in my opinion). This one which I think is the original location is by far the best on all accounts. Highly...
Read morePortuguese Chicken/Chorizo Sandwich, Crispy Fries, Mixed Salad . As you can tell I love Portuguese Chicken haha. When it's done well it's the best way I'd say that I like to eat this amazing produce. Personally, something cooking on the open fire, rotating above, like back in medival times really excites me. It cooks nice and slow and allows the flavours to really develop. . At Cantine Emilia they have some amazing prepared meats and choices for you to choose from. There chorizo is amazing, the marinated pork chop is stealer and even the chicken on its own is juicy, flavourfull and nicely chard. But obviously the star move is putting all this in a sandwich and eating everything at once 😅. . The combination of the meats are so good together. You get the best of both world from the pork and chicken that are so widely used in Portuguese cooking. The homemade mayo and red sauce is amazing to accompany the sandwich with giving it the kick it needs. Served with crispy fries and a salad, what more can a guy ask for?! 👍 . Check them out, get some delicious marinated meats and have a great meal. Also check out there custom made pasteis de nata, there traditional but with...
Read moreThis was not a shining experience but it was likely circumstantial to the kitchen staff at the time. I ordered the Tia Natal, a grilled cheese featuring portugese chicken, chorizo and cheese curds. This sandwich by itself totaled to about $20 after tax & tip. I will say that the cashier gave me great service. For the price though, this sandwich was disappointing. A grilled cheese is supposed to hold together. Since this was relying on cheese curds, they did not get them to sufficiently melt so the sandwich was falling apart. Wait time was a bit long and it seemed overdone as well so the cook likely left it on the grill for too long while doing something else. Dish came with a mountain of tasty fries which at least ensured that I was full from the meal but I really wish I had chosen a different sandwich or someone...
