Absolutely outstanding! This gem in Villeray is a culinary paradise that deserves all the accolades it receives. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

Let's talk about the food - it's nothing short of spectacular. Each dish is a work of art, meticulously crafted with the finest ingredients and bursting with flavor. The menu is a culinary journey that celebrates the best of local and seasonal produce, and every bite is a testament to the chef's skill and creativity. Whether you're a fan of classic favorites or adventurous enough to try something new, this restaurant has something to delight every palate.

But it's not just the food that's exceptional - the service is impeccable. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about ensuring that every guest has a memorable time. Their genuine enthusiasm for the cuisine is infectious, and they are more than happy to provide recommendations and share their expertise. Ask for Louis-Simon. He’s the man!

The ambiance is another highlight. The cozy yet elegant decor creates an intimate setting that's perfect for everything from a romantic dinner for two to a lively gathering with friends. It's the kind of place where you can truly unwind and savor each moment.

In conclusion, this restaurant is a true standout in Villeray. If you're in search of a dining experience that's elevated in every way, look no further. Prepare to be wowed by the amazing food, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance. It's an absolute must-visit for anyone who appreciates the finer...

Such a great restaurant! We came here to celebrate our daughter's birthday, she'll be going to Spain in the summer and we wanted to give her a taste of it already. Such a great place to do so! While the menu isn't very big, there should be something for everyone, and don't be shy to try new things! Service was fast, we were already munching some fried calamar (Calamares con salsa brava - delicious, very tasteful) and Croquetas de jamón within 10 minutes after ordering, and our main course came not too long after we finished those. Our waiter, Andy, was very friendly and helpful, and stepped by for a talk now and then. My daugher had hoped to eat churros for dessert, but they only serve them for brunch.. but the waiter promised something to make her forget the churros and brought out a «Éclair» de turrón (nougat eclair) with a candle. It was delicious indeed! We had arrived at 7pm and the restaurant wasn't full yet, but probably an hour later the restaurant was full, with a very nice atmosphere, not too loud, lighting dimmer as the evening went on and some nice music without it being too loud. My daughter, and all of us loved the whole experience. Definitely will...

I passed by here so many times and it was on my list. The food is ok, nothing extraordinary. Some of the seafood was overcooked. However the service is really lacking.

We asked for help to choose a glass of wine. The response was “we have 6-7 options”. This is already obvious from the menu. So no further explanation until we ask specific questions about each wine. Compared to other restaurants in Montreal, this kind of response was a first.

After we ordered the food, the waiter pulls the menu from my partner’s hand without even asking.

While the waiter is talking to the guests at the next table, she takes away our wine glass without looking at us or our table. (I.e. without interacting with us)

We got bumped multiple times by the waiters while we’re eating. Half of the time there’s not even an apology. I understand that the space is tight but when it happens repeatedly, it starts to interfere with the dining experience.

I first assumed that the waiter must be having a bad day first but these things keep piling up. I’ve been to Tapeo before and never had such a service. Really disappointing for a restaurant...

The fantastic little brother restaurant of Tapeo, the restaurant that singlehanded you revived Villeray district. Along side this other gem of a place, Mesón, they’ve given life to entire neighborhood and should get some sort of royalty for each new place that opens. They didn’t pioneer Spanish food in Montreal but they certainly took it to a new level. Unlike Tapeo, that focus on tapas, Mesón presents typical Spanish dishes, the kind your grandmother would make if she was a fantastic cook and plated like Gordon Ramsay. You will eat well, you will drink well as well because of the carefully selected wine list, many of private import variety. Great vibe, decor, place is always jammed so book ahead. And to mention the fantastic brunch, which has been a great way to introduce people to restaurant. It is my favourite brunch place in town, I love the uniqueness and variety of the dishes (along with free use of chorizo in many menu items). Can’t speak highly enough of the second act they’ve accomplished with their brunch approach. Now during the day and at night, it’s well worth a visit...

We had reservations for 2 on a Saturday night. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. Street parking wasn't an issue and the restaurant was easy to find. We sat by the open window and found the ambiance to be really pleasant. The menu was not too big and had a good variety to choose from. We got many different plates and shared them all. They were out of the croquetas which we wanted to try. The ribs were so tender and just fell off the bone. Not one bit dry. Our favorite was the tartar de res and the fries. It took a bit of time to get our bill and pay, but other than that, the meals were well spaced out and we didn't feel rushed. We would definitely consider coming back here again, and hopefully we'll get to try the croquetas.
