Went to the mood de7ek open mic stand up comedy show. Staff was pleasant, atmosphere was alright. The food however- Please eat before you go. My cousin and I ordered : Fatouch, labneh, a plate of kebbeh (4 in the plate) one plate of cheese cigars (also 4 in the plate) , fries and 2 cokes. Our order came out to roughly 100$. Quite the rip off. If the food was good we wouldn't have minded the hefty price as we love the idea of having a cultural hub like Kawalees here in Montreal but it was harshly below average. If you must eat avoid the kebbeh and cheese cigars. They were clearly bought from Adonis or some other bakery (for 15$/dozen mind you) slapped on a plate and half heated in the microwave ; limp , cold & quite sad while being priced at a whopping 15$ for 4 pieces. Very disappointing and will definitely hinder their progress in building a loyal clientele. Underwhelming is an understatement. Food: 1/5 Service: 3/5...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant and I was blown away by the quality of the food and the hospitality of the staff. The restaurant is located in a basement in the Mile End neighbourhood, but don't let that fool you. The food is absolutely amazing and it's definitely worth the trip. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made us feel right at home as soon as we walked in. We ordered a few dishes to share and each one was more delicious than the last. The flavours were so rich and authentic, it felt like we were transported to Syria. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience Syrian cuisine. You won't be disappointed! From the food to the service, everything was perfect. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes...
Read moreA wonderful cultural space for the arab community.
The venue has a full calendar of various artistic events every week (stand-up, music, dancing, and other performance). There's even an open mic evening, often.
The food is also amazing, a small menu of well selected choices that are all delicious.
The walls are also decoracted by various art from arab artists in Montréal.
I highly recommend you visit, even if you're not arab, you might discover something new...
