What truly makes "Chez Greenberg" special isn’t just the food it’s Jake. He treats every guest like family, and making sure everyone feels welcome. From the moment i walked in, Jake greeted me with a smile and a genuine kindness that’s hard to find these days! You come for the food, but you stay for the warmth. Jewish cuisine elevated to a new level. Flavors are rich yet balanced, presentation is simple. The vegetables they serve are grown on set using a hydroponic system, ensuring freshness and quality. Stumbled upon this GEM. We honestly were just in search of some coffees before walking around the Mont Royal park.

First impressions are that they are some beautifully cheerful people who are still trying to find their way as a new restaurant (only open a month, as of February 2025). After chuckling through their greeting, you smell the wholesome magic coming from the kitchen and realize that walking through the unmarked door was a great decision.

The latkes and the knish that we tried were both delicious. We watched lox bagels go by to other tables that looked delicious and I heard them talking about starting their chowders of the day! If I was a Montreal resident… I’d be telling everyone about this place and coming back to try...

I have had the opportunity both to dine and a friend of mine pick up for lunch for us. Without a doubt THE BEST smoked white fish salad in the city! The smoked salmon is amazing, served on a bagel. And that poutine smashed knish...incredible. Love the creativity in making a ceramic plate look like royal chinet! Brilliant. Aside from all of the food, and decor, what really sets this place apart, is Jake, the owner. He walks around, watches how people react to his food, engages in conversations, and his videos on insta are hysterical.
