Kirkland Resto Bar — Restaurant in Montreal

I've thought on this for about a month now and decided to rate my experience. We've gone to K Resto Bar a few times and were happy until our last visit. We went with another couple. Had very good service. But after we paid the bill, the waitress came back to our table and asked our friend if he was happy with the service. He said yes, it was great. She then asked why he tipped less than 15%. She said that the owner calculates her sales and assumes she'll get 15% so she lost money due to our friend tipping less. I couldn't believe that she came back to the table and asked for a bigger tip. They talked for about 10 minutes and then our friend added another tip for her. This seemed very unprofessional to me. The owner should pay the staff enough that they shouldn't feel the need to ask customers for a bigger tip. But if a customer does tip less than 15%, they're allowed. There's no law on tipping. My husband tipped 20%. Do we get 5% back then? It was really unprofessional and we won't be going back. As much as I enjoy the music and the service...

September 2022: The place is decent.

They have no menus though so You have to look at your phone. Not convenient if you don’t have.

The service was alright. Laid back. And chill Kyle was a decent server.

I ordered their main course chicken with mash potato and veggies. Their veggies were small portions and their chicken was cooked well. Only thing missing was gravy but it’s not on the menu. It was around 29.20 which is quite expensive for me. It’s a not the best buts it’s decent to say the least.

I would recommend it but for now I’m indifferent.

I ate at this restaurant in September 2021. I think Jay and the other owner are doing a good job at maintaining this restaurant well. The restaurant is confusing and a little hard to find it is your first time and the restaurant is small than most. The dine in is not that bad. Just be careful of the black hanging lights because if the tables are rotated around you might hurt your head. I ordered their goat curry and it was delicious nothing to complain about the their curry. The waiter we had was nice and funny as well. I enjoyed their food and I will pass by when I'm craving...

Just back from what sadly, has to the worst meal our collective family has had in years. Like many people have said here, the food is super overcooked and dry. Like eating cardboard. My mother's crispy chicken sandwich was black and completely tasteless. She had maybe 3 bites and really struggled to get it down. I had the "special" hamburger steak with pepper sauce. Eveything was very ...grey. and hard as a brick. The mashed potatoes it came with were super dry. And worst of all it came with a leak and potato soup which was just a bunch of half cooked finger potatoes sitting in broth. Awful. My daughte had a smoke meat poutine. The smoked meat was just ground up beef jerky. We were starting to thing someone was playing a joke on us. But the stomach aches have followed us home. For the amount of money they charge you HAVE to do better. We decided to try it out because of the patio atmosphere and the staff were friendly. But the food was just atrocious. The server removed one of the meals from our bill but still we will never be back. There are a lot better restaurants in the west island even...
