Me and my two friends showed up at 12:50, we were behind two big families that clearly had reservations (and were still waiting for a table.) We went to the hostess and asked how long it would be. she said 15 minutes. Later, other people joined in the very small entry way of the restaurant. A group of three, a table of two, and a table of 5. The hostess came in and looked at my friends and asked us for our names since we were first. She also took the names of the other three person table. 10 minutes later, she proceeded to sit the table of three that came after us. We waited forty more minutes. There was a booth available and the same hostess sat the table of four before us. Finally, after forty minutes, the hostess separated a table and joined it to another table to make our table. She told us to sit ourselves, when we sat down, there was no plates, only chopsticks on a napkin. She gave us a bottle of water with no glasses. My friend at the table had to get up and get her own plates from the supply that they leave in the middle of the restaurant. We asked three different people for wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce and none of them brought it til 15 minutes later. When we started ordering, we got through our first service, then our second order was receiving the “invalid table” error. We asked them to check on it for us, and they told us to just rescan the code which did not work. I had to chase down the waiter in the restaurant until they ended up giving us a new code; they then brought a bunch of things we did not order. We found out they sat the table behind us with our table number and we were receiving their food instead of ours. The soup was cold. The miso soup was just broth, no tofu, seaweed, or onions. Every time a problem was mentioned to the waiter/waitress they would walk away and give attitude. They were upset when we left no...

We visited this all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant around 8:30pm,even though the kitchen would be closed by 9:15pm, that wasn’t the issue. The real problem started with the cleanliness: the water glasses smelled like they had been wiped down with dirty cloths, and though the food came out quickly, it was obvious it wasn’t fresh and prepared in advance. To top it off, there were no water refills once the jug was empty, but fine, that’s understandable — sometimes you need to be indulgent about how these businesses run in all you can eat settings.

However, what I can’t be indulgent about is the attitude of the staff. A couple of people took care of clearing plates and serving, but when we received the bill and left a $5 tip on a $50 tab (having been there barely less than an hour), the waitress wasn’t pleased. She went out of her way to explain how 10% isn’t sufficient and why 15% or more is the expectation. It felt like a joke. To make matters worse, we saw other customers being treated to a simple “goodnight” after the bill while we got the guilt trip about tipping.

It seemed like the waitress was blowing off steam from a long shift, especially since we were seated in a quiet, isolated part of the restaurant where other customers couldn't hear us. But being lectured for tipping less than expected was the last thing we needed after a mediocre dining experience. If you’re on a budget and want to treat yourself, steer clear of this place unless you’re prepared to leave at least 15%, or else you might get an earful on your way out. A quick glance at other reviews confirms that the tipping culture here has left many customers unhappy. I can now say I had the same...

I came to this place thinking it would be a good time with friends since I was introduced to it by family couple years ago. Soon after we ordered some sashimi, we see that there's a fly squashed and stuck inside one of the sashimi that look to be frozen. As soon as we saw the insect in the food we asked a girl about it and she took the plate instantly without telling us anything. I think she showed it to some other staff members but we were in the dark for over 15 minutes wondering what we should do next. This killed the mood. We asked another staff member if she'd be coming back and they told us that "we'd have to wait". We were next to a kind couple that knew the owner and told us to get in contact with Derek. When we asked for the bill, the same girl that was attending to us told us that the price does not include the tip. We paid in cash and expected to get some change but we were baffled she wanted us to tip after this experience. After asking for change she started talking to other customers and made us wait some time before getting back to us. After we left, we did try calling the place but we were not able to get hold of owner. This will be considered hearsay since we unfortunately did not take a picture of this but multiple other people including staff witnessing what happened. That said, we did in fact end up getting a 10% discount. Coming to this review, this is not a place I'd recommend. The food was subpar; it didn't seem fresh/looked like it was frozen, dirty and wasn't sanitary. If you still would like to come here, bring some change if you come here since they do take bills and don't seem to want to give change back and make sure to carefully look...

I highly recommend Taketa, This will become one of my go to restaurant to enjoy good food. My honest evaluation would be 4.5, next time I can't wait to put 5. I must mention that this restaurant has been open for approximately 1 month . We were 2 guests around 8:00 PM on a Tuesday, the restaurant was at 70% capacity. Service was Excellent, cleanliness, perfect. The noise level was good not loud at all. You order via your cellphone with a categorized menu - Like all the others restaurant of this type. What is astonishing is the variety, never seen that many. Rice is on the sweet side and cooked correctly. [Highlights] - Sashimi : Octopus (salty enough, not blend) and salmon were the stars. - Hosomaki, a bit strange how they are rolled, but very good. - Sushi Eel and Scallops - Eel is exceptionally good - Shumai and Shrimp Dumpling, steamed nicely and not sticking to paper, they took great care of that. Served with Siracha when you ask for it. - Pork is very good and tasty (Shumai). - Pork Belly Buns - Very simple but tasty and addictive. Hoisin, cilantro, cucumber... - Beef Ribs - Cook to perfection like a Korean Restaurant where you would cook it yourself - Best Ever, quite impressed ! [Critics and Points that affected my score] - Sashimi Tilapia and Oil Fish were not that great, also the way Sashimi is sliced is way to thin to enjoy the fish, I call those micro sashimi. - Squid rings were dry and like chips - not good. - The Lotus Root Tempura - Lotus was great, but tempura hard has rock - not a good experience and blend. - Takoyaki... I eat those a bit everywhere, this was bottom 10. Overall - I love Taketa.
