I’d like to preface this review by saying that really love this restaurant, the food and service is usually great and the prices are reasonable. I only had an issue at my last visit on Saturday March 2nd when we came by for lunch with our friends:
I wanted ramen, so I ordered the “Korean Ramen” (#17 on the menu, see image) because it was the only option without meat (I’m a pescatarian). It specifically had a green V next to it on the menu, which always means that the item is either vegetarian or vegan, so I felt safe ordering it. As I ate, I found small bits of beef throughout the soup. I don’t like to cause trouble as I know that mistakes can happen, and it was easy enough to pick the meat out of my soup and put them on a plate (see picture). I decided to show to the waiter after so that they could address the mistake because I wouldn’t want this to happen to someone else who’s vegetarian for religious reasons, or someone who’s vegan, or someone who’d freak out if this happened to them. When I went to the cash to pay, I explained what happened to the waiter and gave her the plate. She replied instantly that it’s normal for the soup I ordered to have beef in it. I was confused and told her that the soup has a green V next to it on the menu which means that it should at least be vegetarian. She handed me the menu and asked me to show her where I saw that, and I did. She seemed really apathetic and didn’t offer an apology or anything, she took the plate and said that she’d check into it. She put the plate aside, charged me for our meals like normal, and continued to serve other people (it was pretty clear that she wasn’t going to do anything about it). I was very disappointed at how this was handled, especially since me and my friends love eating at this restaurant. I’d like to know how this will be handled in the future before returning.

We ordered the regular, garlic soy and sweet & spicy fried chicken.
The first tryst with this fried chicken is the fragrance - that all-too-familiar deep fried batter aroma. If you're lucky to live close enough to the restaurant, it is still hot. It smells divine but you've had fried chicken before, you know what to expect.
But then comes the first bite. That sublime crunch! Which is surprising because the meal was delivered/picked up. It's been sitting in a car for 15-20 mins - the moisture has to make the chicken soggy. But no, not the moisture nor the garlic soy/sweet & spicy sauce that the chicken is lathered in makes any dent in the crispiness of this fried chicken.
"Huh, very crispy", you think. They must have over-fried. You live that fiction until your eyes witness the juiciness of the now punctured exterior. You take the next bite and now it is your taste buds that testify to the truth of what your eyes were seeing. The perfect medley of flavours- the meat, the fried batter and the sauce of your choice has transported you to another plane of existence.
You realize that this is no mere avian meat dunked in hot oil. This is proof of the steady advance of human civilization. This makes you thankful for the wonders of globalization. That this author can be an Indian-origin resident in Canada, living on historically Native land, enjoying a day off with family on St-Jean-Baptiste-Day can have a truly incredible meal from a Korean restaurant.
To the owners - I congratulate you on the achievement and solemn pride that must be yours to own and operate such a fine establishment. Continue on this way, with top quality ingredients and plenty of care and this restaurant will be a main-stay of the West Island (and hopefully...
Read moreFood was great However, not a pleasant experience during Saturday dine in with friends. Water received in a glass was slimy and dirty, glass was oily like so we set aside the glasses served and we had no complaint at all. During payment, my friend added 5$ on top of the bill but was surprised how the lady waitress/manager saying “no no no..” but rather, asking for more.. So she said ok, il give cash on ur box. All we thought, she’ll leave, but then she waited in the table and never left.. Her gestures really forcing us to give more..my friend was thinking this might be the restaurant policy now, mandatory tip… took 10$ and drop on their counter.. my friend would have given more $ if and only if the lady just acted nicely, who knows… however, we were really disappointed by her gestures, adding the poker look she provided us…Looks like she left her manners and forgot to put on her temu/shein behaviour . Yay! Goodluck in the business.
Just a reminder, Be mindful of their utensils. And the water served. Give the best tip enough for her to buy manners and excellent...
