Calzone serves what I think is easily the best takeout pizza in town. I only gave 3 stars because my last experience wasn't great.
I placed an order and was told it would be ready in 20 mins. Arrived 18 minutes later and was told it was coming out of the oven next. Meanwhile, a gentleman who had been waiting for his dine-in order got his calzone and proceeded to start eating it. 2 minutes later, the server came out and brought him another one, stating they gave him the wrong one (mine) and that he could keep both. I overheard it, and had to sit there while they surreptitiously made another calzone for me (as if the extra 20 minutes didn't give it away) while my two pizzas sat in the kitchen getting cold. No apology, no acknowledgement while I watched people who's phone orders I heard the server take come in and get their orders. Considering I paid over 70 dollars for my food, it was quite insulting to sit there for almost a half hour without a word from anyone. I was visiting family as I've since moved away from Montreal so it won't affect me much, but the owners should be aware that the level of customer service I experienced was less than I expected and not something that regulars...
Read moreGREAT PIZZA BUT...I've really had a disappointing experience today. Once again , I can't say a bad thing about their pizza...it is fantastic. I came in today for a take-out order ( small pizza and fries). Several people ordered around the same time as me but were out of there after 20 minutes. I was observing the girl that took my order and she realized that she forgot to give my order to the kitchen ( 25 minutes after I placed it ). As I saw what was happening I asked her if it will be much longer..and she responded NO. After 45 minutes she brought me my pizza , didn't apologize, or didn't even offer a free drink as a courtesy. Honestly , I hate places that have no customer service....I find it insulting. If she would have explained to me that she forgot to send my order in , I would have totally understood and wouldn't be even writing this. So just a small business tip - with the amount of pizza you sell during peak hours...and the amount of time that people actually wait for their pizza, it wouldn't hurt to own up to mistakes and offer something...
Read moreIf you come here or order then get what they're known for pizza. Have never found their namesake calzones to be all that good due to the dough used and it becomes a chore to chew it. Needs to be thinner than their pizza crust. Some ingredients also needs to be precooked before being added to the calzone because you'll end up eating a grease slick like if your order the mexican or any calzone with meats that give off a lot of oil.
That being said, they have the absolute best pizza on the West Island. Try and get there when they're not busy to get pizza perfection. Sometimes they get extremely busy and the heat seems to be cranked on the ovens to get the pies out as quickly as possible but then you end up with too quick browning of the cheese. That's not a bad thing, per se, it's just an unfortunate effect of being the greatest and sacrifices you have to make for hordes of hungry people.
I know it sounds like I'm griping, but I do because I care. They...
