The place has an old school vibe which is nice, very ma and pa. The blonde waitress we had seemed like she was in a rush, she did not take time to properly greet us or introduce herself was straight to business, which we would have no problem with but she did not take time to listen to our orders, even when she sent busboy back with our drinks ( he noticed it was wrong) he went back to get me a tea instead of coffee except she didn't specify on the details that it was a green tea not black. When she came back to take our food order, that is when the rudeness came out. My boyfriend asked about milkshakes and she simply says: "its in the menu", without taking the time to show him where as he was visibly lookong for it... he even responds... I don't see it? Instead of listing the options 4 big options for him... She walks away to give him time to find it and choose. She comes back a few seconds later, and now i had a question about the juices (if they had freshly squeezed - fyi- they don't) and about the smoothies. Again, she answered curtly and walked away. My bf got pissed, and she ruined the great mood he was in. In the menu, it states they use wild berries, yogurt, and honey except what was brought to me contained apple juice and no yogurt or honey. Finally, I had to ask a lovely older woman waitress to correct the drink orders and my boyfriend asked if she can serve us instead of the blonde. The blonde came back with the smoothie I had sent back after i told her there was apple juice in this, before i can say please just make it with water no need for yogurt or honey.... she walked away with the smoothie. All she did was add yogurt to the same smoothie. She came back, put the glass on the table, and rushed away. I then got annoyed and sent it back and said, "Forget it, it's not working for the smoothie." That's when the older lady personally made a smoothie for me without honey, juice or yogurt and offered it up as an apology - that smoothie was very good đ (not too sweet and just lovely) We truly appreciated that and it was the only reason we did not get up and walk out. We also appreciated that the blonde came to apologize at the end of our dining for the smoothie mixed up, except she forgot to apologize for her demeanor with us... We just wanted to have a chill, relaxed Sunday brunch, but her attitude was ruining our experience. She had misinformed the waitress when she transferred the orders to the older lady. Thank goodness for that lady. She was smart to double-check with us prior to putting the order in, or else we would have had an extra eggs benedict to pay for. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars instead of 1 is because of the service and kindness of the older brunette waitress, the nice busboy and the hollandaise sauce, in my spinach eggs Benedict was good, however the potatoes were dry and not that great, english muffin was a little too grilled made it hard to chew or cut through. Important to mention when my bf went to pay the bill, the tall ball guy was also pretty rude to him. This solidified our resolve. This is not an experience we would like to relive or recommend. It's a shame as I had high hopes based on the reviews... now I think those reviews were probably from people still drunk from the previous night or that they came on a day where more pleasant staff were working. We arrived as late brunch around 2 pm... people were still waiting in line once we were seated. When people go to restaurants, a certain level of service is expected as they are spending almost 30$ each for something that costs less than 10$ to make at home. Before demanding a tip which the blonde clearly did not deserve make sure you LISTEN to your customer's needs. I've been in customer service for the last 25 years... I've done it all retail, waitress, bartender and teacher, of you don't take time to establish a pleasant rapport with the customer they will never come back in my experience....Repeat customers bring more customers... food for thought to the owners and management of this...
Read moreI visited yesterday for brunch with my family and unfortunately, I am still feeling deeply disappointed with the experience. I had been looking forward to a pleasant meal, but the service left much to be desired. We were a party of eight women, split across two tables, which was fine, but what followed was far from acceptable.
Here are the key reasons for my disappointment:
The first table was served promptly, but the second tableâwhere I was seatedâwaited 45 minutes for our food. All I ordered was two eggs and half a waffle.
Other tables, who arrived well after us, were served before we were, and had finished their meals by the time we were still waiting.
When everyone else at our table received their food -after an abnormally long wait-, I had to ask the waiter about mine, and only then did he realize my order had been forgotten. He re-placed the order without any apology or acknowledgment of the mistake.
When my meal finally arrived, I found the syrup dispenser contained only water. I was told that real maple syrup is an extra charge, so I had to eat my waffle without any syrupâa big letdown.
Several of us ordered coffee, but weâre pretty sure we were served decaf, as none of us felt the usual caffeine boost. We ended up going to Tim Hortons afterward just to get a decent cup of coffee.
Our server didnât check on us at all until the very end, and by then, we gave him our honest feedback.
To top it off, we noticed the walls were covered with fruit flies towards the end of our meal, which was really off-putting.
In conclusion, I wonât be returning. To top it off, I have hypoglycemia and started crying while waiting for food which was not coming because of how long it took. I cannot blame them for this part since they cannot know of my medical history. And while I donât think the waiter is entirely at fault, as he seemed like a nice person, I was shocked at the lack of professionalism. Having worked in restaurants myself, I know mistakes happen, but it's important to acknowledge and address them. A little effort in customer service goes a long way, and sadly, none was shown here. The food itself was also underwhelming and certainly not worth the...
Read moreI went to this restaurant this weekend with some of my friends. As we got in it was quite busy and packed we got seated after waiting 10 minutes. As we got seated we were cramped into a corner. Our table was place against the wall and another table was right next to us. When I mean next to us I mean almost touching. We could hear everything from them and vice-versa. The tables behind and infront of us were almost touching making it super tight. I was uncomfortable getting up to use the bathroom as the people next to us would've needed to get up to let me pass and the people behind would need to move forward for space. The server was so rude and not professional at all. Making rude comments and never checking up on us for anything. As I was about to pay I saw he charged me for a BLT Bagel but all I got was a creamcheese bagel. I payed it without saying anything as all I wanted was to get out. Also my friend got a coffee and when adding milk it had curdled!! The bathrooms were unkempt and nasty. The only good thing was the food. Very good and fresh. Anyways giving this place a 1 star just because the...
