So how can I review this place fairly? Basics .... rarely have I given a place 5* , 2 days in a row , Saturday and today Sunday ....I visited in order to buy whole beans that are so flavorful, from the moment I step into any restaurant / cafe I usually look at what is happening behind the counter , 2 Baristas in complete control of the line up and flow of service , despite the fact they are wearing masks , you can see they love what they do , at a point the line up reaches the entrance , Barista/ receiving orders person , calmly aknowledges that the line is getting longer , again calmly but efficiently takes the orders and while she is multi tasking , I am pretty amazed by the skills these 2 young ladies had , I hope the owners are aware of this /unless they were the owners . Is it better than Replika down the street? Depends what you’re after. Replika’s better for working, sure, but only if you snag a seat at 8 a.m.. Leaves at McGill might be the best for low-key productive energy, but it lacks Dispatch’s atmosphere. And Osmo? Prettiest of the bunch, worst to work in.
Dispatch is a nice middle ground. And that’s just the shape of Montreal café life right now....
