Very disappointing in their lack of care for attendees with accessibility concerns.
We bought tickets for our first show at the Wiggle room and arrived before the doors opened because my wife had busted her ankle the day before and was on crutches for the first time in her life.
I dropper her off at the door because she couldn’t go far on the crutches. This was super stressful because there was nowhere to safely pull over and she had to get out on the street side and try to navigate the traffic on her crutches.
After I helped her get to the door, I left her there while I went to park the van we were driving. It’s an unusually large accessibility van. So I quickly discovered I was too tall for any parking garage and too big for any street parking. There was apparently also a large event going on and it was crazy trying to find parking. I spent over an hour trying to find a place to park and couldn’t find a place anywhere.
During this time my wife kept calling and was in tears because of the steep stairs in the building. She said people offered to carry her up the stairs but it scared her too much. She tried calling the listed phone number to get some advice but no one answered the phone or returned her voicemail.
After more than an hour of trying to find a way to make it work we gave up because it was so stressful on both of us. We called and emailed and asked for a refund given the circumstances but they never bothered to even respond in any way.
I understand their are limitations to what they can do for customers with accessibility needs, but at least showing that you have some empathy would leave customers not feeling...
Read moreI've been to the Wiggle Room more than a few time. The shows are always great and the drinks are on point, even if the seating is rarely optimal. Unfortunately, this time I made the mistake of going alone and purchased a ticket in the "Lounge". I arrived half an hour before the show and the hostess seated me in the middle of the bar, with tall bottles 8in. from my nose and the stage perpendicular to my stool. With the two fairly sizable gentlemen who eventually sat on my right, my view was complety obstructed and with the passage right behind me and not wanting to rise on my knees and ruin the night of the person on my left, there was no way to remedy the situation. I must admit I got frustrated, didn't finish my otherwise excellent drink and left before the show even started. Through no fault of their own, the venue is poorly spaced and absolutely does not cater to individuals ..... especially ones on the smaller side.... My advice is to definitely checkout the Wiggle Room, but do so in groups and arrive at the earliest hour possible to get a chance at a...
Read moreEntertaining and enjoyable night out in Montreal! Frenchy was a wonderful host, funny, and very interactive with the crowd. The performers were talented and had great stage presence! The staff were extremely friendly and professional, although it felt a little understaffed as it was hard to get your next drink at times. I wonder if a light up system or some way to signal needing another drink would be beneficial! (We’ve seen places where each table has a little tea light cup and you turn the light on when you’re ready for your next drink- it seems to work well and we felt it might work in a place like The Wiggle Room too to signal that you’re ready for your next drink without disrupting the show!). We were extremely impressed with the cocktails, the prices and the very friendly service. The atmosphere was extremely inclusive and respectful, very tastefully executed.
We would absolutely...
