When I first saw that Mon Ami was opening on Masson, I was really super excited to finally get korean food nearby. I tried this place on a Tuesday evening around 20:00. The owner told me that AYCE was no longer available and I honestly did not have any problem with that. Then, I assume it was the teenage daughter of the owner that put my husband and I at a table that is meant for 6 right next to the window. The weather was very cold that night so instead of sitting facing each other, we ended up sitting next to each other to keep warm. That was the first ick but I figured it wasnât that bad. Another waitress that seemed to also be a teenager (again, im assuming it was the daughterâs friend that got hired) came to give us ustensiles and water. She left everything on the table and we had to serve water ourselves. At this point im still okay with it but it is worth to mention that the restaurant was basically empty. We ordered a seafood pancake, ramen tteobokki, and 2 flavors of fried chicken. The ramen tteobokki came first and my husband was disappointed that it was in a soup form. We have ordered this same dish at other Mon Ami locations before, and it usually comes in a thick spicy sauce. Again, I tell myself, maybe we just didnât read the description right of the dish. The pancake was served afterwards with no sauce. I asked the waitress to bring it and she completely forgot about it and my husband actually had to walk up to her to remind her because she was never looking at our table. The sauce finally came and the pancake was already getting cold. The pancake was very dense and crunchy (big difference with crispy). I did not think it was good. The fried chicken was delicious but I was already annoyed by all the rest of my experience. Overall, I would say that this restaurant needs to hire real waiters/waitress staffs. The service was very amateur and they could also definitely improve their korean pancake recipe. I was really truly rooting for this restaurant to thrive but my first experience was very mediocre. I would give it a try again in 6 months to see if thereâs any...
Read moreI've been to many AYCE kbbq and this is the third Mon Ami I go to. Honestly, this wasn't it. My friends and I love the one in Verdun, but they're far so we were happy to see there was one in Masson. The ramen was literally just carrots and ramen in warm water, no spices no anything in the actual broth it was just water. Then the meat was overly salted and tasted bad, it was stringy and broke apart, it just wasnt good quality nor did it have a good taste. The crab and salmon tartare was just salmon no crab. A lot of side dishes were greyed out and not available on a saturday night. The service was okay at best, and overall the food just tasted way off compared to what we were expecting based on our previous Mon Ami experiences at Verdun and Jean Talon. Genuinely the only things we enjoyed were the steamed rice and the veggies. I would not come back here ever. It was disappointing to pay over 100$ for food that wasn't great and service that was...

Will be back so many more times, canât wait to bring all our friends and family. Super excited to have this place right nearby!
For the price of 35-40$ plus tip, thereâs a pretty big variety of meats and sides thatâs so very worth it. Been to quite a few kbbq/all you can eat places and this one has been amazing. Owner and staff are super sweet and helpful, and the food is fantastic.
Interior and lighting is super warm and cozy, we were set up in a booth by the window. So happy! Not noisy and overwhelming at all like most kbbq places can be!
Important note, if youâre arriving later in the evening they close their kitchen around 10. Still plenty enough time to finish your food by 11. You need to book I believe, but we arrived at 8:45 and just booked for 9...
