Since the late 90's, I have been coming here with my family and friends. It is the place I go to when I want Pho soup and any other Vietnamese dishes. Honestly, I have nothing to complain about when it comes to the food. Flavor and taste are just right, how a Pho soup should taste like.
I always feel satisfied after eating, you get full fast!! The price of every dish on the menu are reasonable, (Ex: Pho Soup= Small to large, $6~$10..about).
I have been here since the 90's although the quality of the place since then looks like it has already been up much longer than that (10 years or more, roughly). Until now, the place looks the same! Not much changed with the aesthetics of the place. So the environment is a bit outdated with color choices, furnishings etc: Basically the place has not been renovated! But if we are just going to be judging about the quality of the food, you won't be disappointed unless you are very picky and have such a sophisticated...
Read moreIt doesn't get much more authentic than this. I visited this restaurant with a group of friends and it was my first time trying pho (Vietnamese noodle soup). The menu was filled with all kinds of choices, and I ended up going for the meatball pho. You also get a choice of size and believe me when I say you will need to be REALLY hungry to be able to cope with the large portion. I got a small, and that was totally sufficient for me. This is not a fancy place. The tables and decor are plain and functional. The soup spoons and chopsticks are already in a kind of dispenser at the table. The service is quick and efficient. I noticed a lot of Vietnamese enjoying a Saturday lunch, which gives you a clue to how good this place is. In fact, there was a group of 5 men at the table near to us all talking animatedly, so if you closed your eyes you really were...
Read moreI finally had time to write this. Since I really liked the seafood dish with crispy noodless from Nguyen Phi on CDN, that unfortunately was closed, we decided to go in and try it here, thinking that the experience could be similar. We were 3 at the table. We also ordered a third dish with shrimps, beef and chicken.
Without a doubt, the seafood, with noodless, as a whole, was better in the Nguyen Phi. There, the sauce was more flavorful, well seasoned. Richer and thicker. Here, it was like water. As for the other dish, it was generally good, but according to my table companion, the shrimps were dry. So much so that he had a hard time removing them from the toothpick. The service time was average. Nice atmosphere and clean place. Next time, I might...
