Pierrette Patates is not so much a place as it's an experience. The fry cooks behind the counters are good natured wizards who deliver top notch food from a great Canadian "Shack a patates" menu. Their shredded chicken poutine is one of the best I've had in town and that's what I always order when I visit. Don't get me wrong, the place hasn't been renovated since before the Habs won their last Stanley Cup, but that's not why you go there. At least you don't have to pay for a fresh coat of paint. You get good fast food from the friendliest staff in Verdun and you get it for a very decent price.

If you want the old school corner fast food joint experience, this is it. Tiny - 3 booths and 5 stools - and a decor that hasn't changed in decades. Prices are really decent. Steamies are 1.50$, a big poutine is about 10 bucks. Cash only. My order was ready pretty quickly. I tried the regular poutine, the Italian poutine and the steamies. The hotdog was perfect, the poutines were okay but not my favorite in Verdun. The potatoes had a grainy texture, the Italian gravy was too watery. But the value is good, and Verdun wouldn't be Verdun without places like this.

It’s a good old school diner ( casse croûte) at first the service seems a bit cold but once u break the ice and start talking to the 2 gentleman working there it feels a bit warmer. The food is good . The steamed hot dog is excellent and the pizza was on point.the Italian poutine was ok to be honest. I saw some people having subs and they looked really good and I will definitely return for that and try some other foods on the menu.

I've been a customer for 23 years. I used to love everything on the menu. But the service has gotten horrible. Calling for an order, the guy is RUDE and condescending. I get disgusting tomatoes with the rind on my subs, soggy dark green lettuce.

I called at 7pm, and I said for delivery, and he said, okay, address, then told me, no forget it, we aren't going 10 min away to deliver your food.

I used to get full on half a sub. Now I eat the whole thing wanting more food. They are so cheap now with the amounts of food they add. Sub buns say 10" and you get 7 or 8" and 25% is what u asked, then they fill the rest with lettuce. Cheap with sauces. Fries taste burnt.

My very last visit, I ordered 2 subs, and waited 21 minutes, while others ordered subs, deliveries came in for more subs, and I was appalled to see the cooks rushing to serve them, when I was sitting there patiently like a customer.

All in all...Another Great Restaurant gone to my Do Not Order List.

I hope it was worth it, because you lost a LONG TIME customer with your recent actions.

Cheapness doesn't sell....

The owner decided that his employee must have given me too many fires, even if I did order the biggest bag of fries which comes to $10, so he removed a huge amount of them behind the counter and double bagged them thinking I didn't notice. I guess he decided to give my "extra" fries to the other customer that was waiting. Once I got home with my purchase I was shocked to see that not only did he remove all the fries that had been up over the lip of the bag, but that he actually reduced the amount of fries way bellow the lip of the bag. If the restaurant had been closer I would have gone back. What a cheapskate! Then you have to wonder what else does he do to your food to save money...

Because of this I will never...

Our lives not too far from this place. It's your classic Montreal greasy spoon the fries are delicious, they are homemade... Not greasy at all. They offer several format sizes of fries. If you want to have a bag just to yourself or you want to bring a bike home to the family. They're very inexpensive. Staff is very friendly. A lot better than spending your money at certain popular hamburger chains. Most assuredly... My only complaint is that they close at 8 in the.. so if you finish work late and you've been craving a couple of hot dogs with a french fry you're out of luck... Make sure you ask your boss to finish early so you can get there...
