Pizzeria Bros NDG — Restaurant in Montreal

So I ordered 2 Margherita pizzas and the Montreal, which is a typical all dressed pizza in Montreal. I asked for the pizza to be cooked a little more well done. Distance from restaurant to my home was a 15 minute drive and the pizza was transported in their original pizza boxes. Pepperoni quantity was so so, sauce was lacklustre and really more bland than a zingy sauce. Cheese coverage was good but a little thinly covered as was the quantity of veggies. The dough was nothing special and quite average and even though well done was requested the pizza was anything but well done, as a matter of fact it was baked at a level that the pizza was so saggy even when folding the pizza as toppings would slide off. Overall i look at the cost of over $50 with tax, and thing about the taste, texture, quality, portion and so forth and have decided not to return as it’s very much below average in my opinion. And when I say average I am not comparing this to a junky Pizza Pizza or Pizza Hut, I’m comparing it to higher priced hand made pizza baked in similar or wood ovens. There are numerous competitors at the same price that create superior pizza and on Sherbrooke street west there are a few such as Pizza Prima - thought a very expensive product but a delicious one and I would rather pay a little extra and get a superior product. Or go a little more down to Donato Restaurant that offers fantastic wood oven pizza at very competitive pricing with superior quality, taste, portion, and texture. We ordered a few item selections to try at home during our power outage.

Pizza: didn’t know what to expect from a pizza cooked in 90 seconds. As pizza lovers who often make pizza from scratch since nothing good exists in our neighborhood, we were blown away by how good this pizza was. This comes so close to the ones we ate in Italy. The dough has really nice flavour & texture. The quality of the toppings and sauce were excellent. Will definitely order again! Finally a good pizza joint in NDG!

French fries: sadly these fell short for us. Although not too greasy, they were slightly undercooked for our taste and way too salty.

Italian panini: this one was our least favourite. Crust was way too thick and the cold cuts were definitely lacking. I think it would have been better to use thinner cuts of various cold cuts that aren’t so salty. Disappointed there was no cheese. This would have made it more authentic! Again, very heavy on the salt.

Arugula salad: nice combination, just missing a punch of flavour and maybe a reduction of salty items as when add the dressing, it feels too salty and unbalanced.

Overall, this spot selects quality ingredients and could use a little less of a heavy hand on the salt. Let the ingredients shine! Pricing was very reasonable for what they offer and the young man who served me was attentive...

We just got this tonight for delivery: one pepperoni and one cheese pizza. It was a gamble because I have three young kids with strong opinions. To quote them: 10 out of 10! It really is great pizza.
