Read moreMy first impression of the restaurant was pleasant due to its being located on a new shopping strip there was initial attraction.
Unfortunately, the menu was confusing & the staff was not helpful — which was frustrating, discouraging & disappointing.
When I’ll go out for food that is prepared by others I expect to thus receive love and helpful knowledge of; with genuine kindness so as to accommodate my curiosity to try a new meal with ease, comfort, joy and encouragement.
As our questions were asked, we were met with apprehension and I’d felt judged for not really understanding their process of ordering. Yet, I was hungry and forgiving so I’d proceeded..
I should not have to do the job of the other person that I am supposed to be receiving service from. I felt rushed and hurried, and the presentation of our meals had reflected this.
Then, we got charged sit down restaurant with full serviced prices for a bad fast food product.
The rice and potatoes tasted like they had to of been thrown in the trash 2 days ago. I felt like the food I was eating was rescued out of the garbage. Perhaps, maybe this is the standard on Monday’s. Boustan already was not my first choice but because many other quality options were closed, we took a chance at this opened establishment.
Maybe the pride & care of their passion is reserved only for the weekends when there is expectation of a higher customer count? But then in with regards to that, the management should consider a special offer when dishing out...
Read more**edit to add: Boustan replies to not great reviews asking to email them with more information. I did a couple of weeks ago and never got a reply. It seems they write that to make it look like they care about negative experiences. Disappointed in the order we got this evening for pickup. We got a vegan plate for 25$. We asked for potatoes only (instead of half potatoes and half rice) and the plate was 75% cabbage. A sprinkle of potatoes in an ocean of cabbage. I think the rice should be replaced by more potatoes, not cabbage. Right? Trying to save money on pickup orders when clients don't see the plates until they get home?
The wraps we got had no garlic sauce at all on them, but very heavy on the humus (and again, a ton of cabbage). I'm not sure why there was no garlic mayo, I thought that was pretty standard.
I think when you go to boustan's you expect garlic, unless you say "no garlic". Which we didn't.
One plate and two wraps for 60$ and being disappointed sucks.
We were starving. We contemplated taking photos but decided not to so we could eat. The more we ate the more disappointed we felt. Hence the post. Regret not taking photos.
Normally we LOVE the vegan wrap. (mushroom "meat" and garlic mayo). But tonight, we didn't really love the cabbage hummus wraps. 60$ of...
