Really happy that I was able to find a sushi place that accepts cash on delivery. It was the only reason I ordered.
Delivery was meant to take maximum 1 hour, it took a little longer than that. No biggie, but should be mentioned.
When I made the order, it gave a price. When I got the email, an extra amount was added for delivery, okaaaaaay.
But when it was delivered, there was a second delivery charge added to the price that I was never made aware of...slightly uncool but I did at least have the cash on hand, just not too much more as I wasn't made aware of ANY additional charge until AFTER the order was placed.
The delivery person called the resto angrily, arguing how this delivery was for nothing, that he wasted his time.
He told me to take his phone, I asked why, refusing to touch his phone. (I don't know you and I don't want to get sick, thank you), I asked the delivery person if these extra charges were his payment, he said yes.
At this point I bid him a cheerful good day and closed the door.
Dear delivery person, you're not the only person that works in the service industry.
A tip is NEVER something that should be expected, let alone argued about, in any way shape or form.
Sometimes I get tips and I'm grateful and the times I don't, I accept that maybe there's something going on in their life to afford it, maybe they're from another country where tipping is not customary.
It doesn't matter the reason why, it is not up to you or anyone to cast judgement in such a way.
If you were my employee and I ever heard you speaking in this fashion to ANYONE, I would have given you the sack faster than you could blink.
Dear resto, your food was okay but adding delivery charges twice after the order was created, is really not cool.
Please fix this and have your clients aware of all charges at the time they submit their order, especially for situations where payment is in cash and a tip needs to be figured.
Had I known I would have to put out an additional 30% on the order to make everyone happy, I would have either ordered less, or not place an order at all.

It was delivered almost an hour later and ginger was not fresh, no wasabi and no chopsticks. The food itself was great (which is why I’ve given it a 3 star), but the service and dealing with UEats has made my experience here quite bad. I noticed that it had been over an hour and half with no food or no call from the restaurant so I called. Turns out they had no delivery driver available. They really should have called me to let me know or cancelled my order. I was charged for delivery and tipping the driver but 1) I was never informed by the restaurant that my driver was NOT available for delivery and 2) I was never refunded for the delivery and driver tipping fee (which came to about $10.00). If I didn’t call the restaurant and ask where my food was, would they have called me to let me know?
