Restaurant Boustan — Restaurant in Montreal

I ordered it off skip the dishes last night . It arrived quickly. I got all the vegetarian options : 2 bowls (veg kebab, falafel) and 3 wraps (veg kebab, vegetarian, falafel) for the week. Tried them all before storing away in my fridge. The best thing was the veg kebab pita wrap (and maybe the veg kebab bowl) but I’ve had it at the boustan location on st Catherine st near place des arts and it was better there for some reason. The veg plates / bowls are also bigger and more exciting at the st hubert street location which I remember having trouble finishing but I could eat this full one without feeling super stuffed. If you’re looking to eat the same type of food but have a more authentic and gourmet experience, I’d check out TESFA just down the street if they’re open. I needed food when they weren’t so I gave this place a try. It was great but not amazing like the other boustans....

Was visiting in from Toronto and have been to the Oakville location several times. The service there is incredible. The food is always amazing! I have a gluten allergy (celiac) and had alerted the staff both in english and proper french and yet to my surprise the very ingredient I specifically said I couldn’t digest (the pita I was given but didn’t eat, as well as the tabouleh which contains a grain) was cross contaminated at the bottom of my bowl. While I understand accidents happen, in this situation I am very confused as to why there was not any care. Luckily I knew what was and wasn’t gluten free to order because the waiter did not check. I really hope this was just an off day for the staff but the pain I ended up suffering was definitely not worth the price of my meal. We have come here a few times. Mainly for take out and we have not disappointed in the food we ordered. Last night we decided to eat at the restaurant. Generally the staff behind the counter are neutral in their interactions with us. Which is to be improved as we are friendly to begin with and like asking how people are doing. Now the staff last was a pleasant surprise. Friendly and interacted with us. This is how you get clients to come back and eat inside. Those walking by who see this are more inclined to walk...
