The food is pretty good, but they don’t respect delivery drivers. I placed an order with Uber Eats a while ago, and my order took nearly an hour and a half to arrive. I could see in the app that my food was taking a long time to be prepared. When my driver finally received the food, they arrived at my home very quickly. I didn’t complain. It really wasn’t a big deal. However, when I rated my meal, I added the “Too Slow” tag on my rating for the restaurant. I’ve ordered from them multiple times, and my order took almost twice as long to arrive than expected, so that was an accurate assessment of the situation.

Someone at Chez Ping had the time to respond to my rating by blaming the driver for my late food, telling me that I can use the app to track food prep and driver delivery progress. I already knew I could do that. That’s why I didn’t blame the driver for my food taking forever to arrive. I kept looking at the app to see why it was taking so long, and the food was in the preparation stage for ages.

While the food is pretty good, Chez Ping’s willingness to pass their minor mistakes off on unsuspecting delivery drivers left a bad taste in my mouth.

EDIT (because it doesn't look like I can reply): Since the issue is with the app, I would really appreciate you contacting them about it, not me. I get why the problem is happening, and it's definitely unfair, but since I can't actually fix it, being told about it sounds more like an excuse than a reason. "It's not our fault, it's theirs!"-type messages don't read well over the internet at all, even when you're in the right. That being said, thanks for clarifying the previous response. I hope Uber Eats listens to your feedback and updates the order progress bar so that it better reflects what's actually happening as the meal is being prepared.

Looking forward to my next order from...

Complete and utter disaster of a Chinese restaurant.

1 - Front of house extremely scatter brained. Don't take my order if you are just going to turn around and chat with a waitress. Had to repeat my order 3 times.

2 - My food order that consisted of the following: Shrimp Fried rice SooGuy Chicken (Fried chicken) Deep Friend Pork Chops Beef with Snow Pea leaves

Took a grand total of 55 minutes... Other tables that were seated after me by 15 minutes were served before I was served my takeout... Honestly these dishes don't take long to make.

3 - Lady at the front desk was so rude. When taking my order could not pay attention for more then 30 seconds. When asked where my food hasn't come out the answer was "It's in the kitchen". Mind you it is an acceptable answer if it was a 10 minute wait. Yet this is after 45 minutes. I replied "Can you go check where my order is?". I got the rudest reply right after. She said "That's not my job".

4 - One of the wait staff seemed a bit concerned and told me she saw one of my dishes packed and sitting there for "Like 10 minutes" So I'm assuming one of the four dishes I ordered would be cold by the time I got it. Boy was I right.

5 - Food taste bland and no care was taken in seasoning.

Honestly. Save your money. Save your time. Drive Downtown, Chinatown, St-Laurent or even Verdun. This place is utterly...

We are in town on business and we drive by this plaza daily on our way home and see the giant lit up PING sign ... We decided to stop in the other night to get some food as we haven't had Chinese food in a while ...

When we arrive and go in we realize that the restaurant is actually closed inside and blocked off by tables just inside the doorway, and it is takeout only, going by an alternative name SHIFU (on Uber, Dash, Skip, and many others probably based on the amount of Tablets that are sitting on the counter) ... We decided to do takeout and go back to the hotel and eat ...

We ordered probably entirely way too much food, but it all sounded great ... For a takeout only place the 6 menus casually thrown down on the tables blocking the restaurant seemed more faded/dirty than you would expect ...

The one staff member that we dealt with was super helpful and explained a few dishes we asked about and even made suggestions in between pulling Uber orders for drivers coming in ...

The food was ultimately very good, and the suggestions were appreciated 👍

Overall, I would go back and try some other menus items next time...

This was by far the most terrible, disgusting Chinese takeout experience I have ever had. $18 for a tiny portion of “peanut butter” chicken, which was actually some frozen mystery meat drenched in water that had a slight peanut flavour. No veggies, but it did come with some disgustingly sweet seaweed. If the owner is reading this, let me know when I can come back for my refund.

So we were not really hungry for dinner. Looking for a dim sum place near verdun and Ping was the one that jumped out. Great venue. Nicely spaced tables. Very courteous and helpful staff. We ordered some dim sums, soups, and a big plate of crispy calamari for 3 persons. Total with tips about $43. No drinks. I will come back to try other plates. Try the baby squid dim sums!
