We dined here as a group of five for a friend’s birthday reservation on September 28th. Seated at 8:45 PM, we placed our order soon after. However, by 9:55 PM, we still hadn’t received our food. I informed our waiter, a young man in glasses, who apologized and expedited our orders. While refilling our water, he “accidentally” spilled some on me, tilting the bottle over my arm. He walked away without acknowledging the spill, and I chose not to make a fuss. When the food finally arrived, it was incredibly bland. The Cavatelli dishes in particular were watery and had a bitter aftertaste, tasting like they had barely any salt. Reading these other positive reviews, we suspect the kitchen specifically didn't salt our food properly. After finishing, four of us went to the washroom while I ordered an Uber. During this short time of ten minutes, several waiters began aggressively clearing the table, loudly clattering dishes. Our waiter told me curtly, “We need the table in two minutes.” Despite the restaurant being half-empty and closing in fifteen minutes, he returned multiple times to rush us out, even though we had just paid the bill and were still finishing our last drink. Two waitresses walked past our table, rolling their eyes and scowling. Their behaviour was unnecessary and rude. Our group included three black women and a gay Chinese man. We were quiet, stacked our plates, and respected the surrounding space, but the treatment we received felt targeted and unwelcoming. Restaurant Corneli is not a safe or welcoming environment for visible minorities. I do not recommend supporting this business.

I recently visited Corneli with my girlfriend. I ordered the Vitello alla Parmigiana with vegetables and potatoes, while she chose the Linguini alle Vongole. Unfortunately, my veal dish was a big disappointment. The potatoes were floury and unpleasant to eat, the carrots were fine, but the green vegetables tasted frozen, something I notice right away and personally don’t enjoy. The tomato sauce was good, but the veal itself was overwhelmed by the flour coating, making it hard to really taste the meat. My girlfriend’s linguini dish was better overall. However, the clams were not cleaned properly, so there was sand in them, which is a big drawback for a seafood dish. On the positive side, before our meals arrived, we were served complimentary Italian bread (similar to focaccia) with spices and pepper. It wasn’t too strong and was very enjoyable. Honestly, it ended up being better than my main dish. We received only one slice because I took the picture late, but normally they serve four or five slices, which is a nice touch. Each dish was $32, and with tax and tip, the total came to around $80–$90 for two. Given the quality, I find it quite expensive. Main takeaway: Corneli seems like a better choice if you stick to pasta, which they do well (though my girlfriend’s dish could have been improved by properly cleaning the clams). I would definitely avoid the vegetable-and-potato option and go for the homemade pasta instead. Overall, I’d call it a so-so restaurant: not terrible, but not one I’d rush back to for veal.

I aint gonna front, I couldn't read a thing on the menu so I kinda just had to go off the pictures. They gave me the hon hon hon menu instead of the freedom-loving english menu, but I'll let that slide because that meat lovers pizza I ordered (I think it was meatlovers idk I couldn't read it) was next level.

I loved that they actually got all their ingredients in-house! That means all the meat came from live animals, that 5 star rating on atmosphere comes from the fact you can hear unspeakable animal cruelties happening back in the kitchen. My wife had a constant look on her face like she was in a state of fight or flight, but personally I loved the vibes.

I also asked for a silly straw for my drink and by god, they did it! They actually did it! I wanted to test the limits of their customer service, so I asked (demanded) that they put on "A Serbian Film" on the only TV they had in the building, and they did it! Me and the wife got to watch the entire thing start to finish with all the other customers and staff as we ate. Some people walked out but thats ok, the girls that get it get it.

Also I may or may not have planted incriminating evidence on one of the workers and they very clearly saw me do it but didn't say anything. That might be because of the knife I had held up close to their chest as I did it so they didnt think to scream out for help but I like to think it was because they were just happy to make a loving customer happy. I respect that!

Anyways I took an upper decker in the toilet and didn't pay before leaving. Great place, go...

I had reserved online for Mother's Day, for 7pm sunday may 11. I had a "date" with my beautiful girlfriend whom is also a mother. We arrived 5 mins before 7pm and we were immediately received by Pina, the owner. As I gave my name, she remembered my previous advance request not to be seated near the door and she set us a table at a very nice spot. Kudos to Pina. We started with a drink: Strawberry daiquiri + Peroni beer, of course the beer was for me ! Atmosphere was nice and with soft music in background. We then had pizza: all-dress for her and New Yorker for me. Both pizzas were perfectly well cooked with their wood-oven. The pizzas was delicious. We ended the evening with a capuccino and a café-latté and my "date" had a pistachio ice-cream. Thank God the waiter brought TWO spoons for her ice-cream !!!! We also had some time breaks in-between the drinks, the pizzas & the cafés + dessert which gave us some romantic moments! Meaning to say we had some nice romantic conversations, okay okay yes I also did plant (sneaked) a few kisses on her cheeks !! Our waitor Ryan, was excellent through out the service and he went to great lengths to make sure we were comfortable from start to finish. I must also mention a thank you to the barista girl who prepared our cafés which was very good. And finally at the end of our "date" she was so happy that she gave me some kisses too, but of course on my cheeks lol !! So guys, do you have a date and you want/need to impress her ? Ristorante Corneli is the special place for you ! Thank you to Pina and Ryan....
