Edit: Disappointed again by the staff response. We respectfully brought up our concern based on not getting the product we ordered. Fatty brisket means there is still brisket, as pictured this is 100% fat... The first server was kind to ask the kitchen staff, however the manager who came out was rude and gaslit us. He argued about the menu, He stated that fatty brisket means 100% fat - if that is the case, i suggest the menu is updated for accurate marketing as this is not what we have ever gotten at other Pho 99s. In store, the manager responded snarky stating he will "call them to talk about the menu", at which point we understood the staff had no intention of serving us, just arguing. So we asked him to leave us alone to finish our food. We did, paid the bill, and left. Not sure what part of this interaction was rude. This locations owner is unprofessional and clearly unexperienced that does not want your business, as seen by their response in store and here.
Dont visit this location unless you want poor quality and service. I've ordered take out from this location several times since its opened. Decided to visit in store for the first time on Sun, Sept 14 and it was a UNIQUE experience..
This location's "fatty brisket" is "100% fat" as confirmed by the server AFTER we got it. This is also the first restaurant I have EVER visited that discouraged me from my order? instead the server CHOSE my order because "we don't typically have a lot this ingredient, we can do this instead". When we asked if this is normal, server confirmed it is; if you're party of two or more, you likely can't order what you want then. There are conditions (minimum order) for ordering as a sit in customer. There's also minimum purchase amount if you want to order alcohol. I understand conditions, but FOR ALL OF THESE THINGS and limiting what I can order.. it's like they don't want you as a customer. The spring rolls were also mild/flavorless and the dip was watery/had no fish sauce or flavour. Could've dipped my spring roll in my water for the same result tbh. This location must be struggling otherwise I can't justify...
Read moreIt's hard to understand my waitre this time his English is very limited. Five times in three months I have had the pleasure and experience at Pho 99. My first experience was interesting to say the least. I arrived and was seated at a booth next to the window which most seats are booth window seating. Pleasant atmosphere and great food smells. Tea was brought and I went through the menu picking my numbers and waited to order for 4 or 5 minutes. My waitress came to take my oder and after my food and appetiser order I decided on a Heineken to enjoy with my meal. Now this is where things got somewhat strange. My waitress looked as though she was in her middle to late 30s. So she must be somewhat of a good judge of a persons age, but oh no she asked me for ID for the beer I ordered.. I began to laugh with utter shock. I said to her smiling how old do you think I am, do I look under 19 years of age, she looked at me and said im not sure. Again I laughed and said to her I am 60 years old turning 61 in six weeks. She said no no no way you are not. I did have a baseball cap on and the sides of my head hair are shaved. I took off the cap then pulled out my id she could clearly see all my grey hair and she looked at my birthdate and her mouth hung open like a drooling wide mouthed bass. She was shocked but so was I. We laughed some more and I then asked her now that you see my hair and my face how old fo you think I look. She said 42 maybe maximum 44 I then thanked her for the compliment and she proceeded to bring me my beer. Cool story.. I will say the food is on the higher side of quality and taste with nice portion size I also ordered fresh basil to have with my meal. Exceptional value service quality and taste. This Vietnamese restaurant i rate at the second best I have ever had. You must experience Pho 99 New Westminster. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Pho 99 New Westminster im a happy camper now that I've found my Go to Pho. Cheers and...

Let’s be honest, there really aren’t many decent or good pho places in the New West area.
Anyways, passing by and noticed a new Pho 99 took over a previous pho on the corner of 12th and 8th. The thing with all the Pho 99 places is it’s a hit and miss, it’s like one of those kindred eggs, you never know what surprise awaits you.
I could see only a minimal renovation was done but everything was clean and still looking fresh with a few tables at the front and booth seats all along the window side.
Here were the food I ordered;
Deep fried chicken wings. The wings looked plump with a nice colour all around plus they were individually seasoned! As good as they looked, they were also tasty and juicy! Very nice! House special pho (#17). The soup was very hot, good start. There were generous amount of meat and were fresh. Glad the meats and tendons were tender too! Some might not like the little oil on the broth but I enjoy a bit of natural oil from the soup, it assures me that the broth were make from scratch.
This is a nice little addition to the New West area and I would say it’s one of the better Pho 99 I have been to so far in terms of quality and service. The food here was quite decent with a reasonable price. They also added a few new items to the menu. The service here was quite good and friendly. I would say my go to place for a hot bowl of pho if I am in the...
