So many products with expired date! I have been visiting this store for a long time and I noticed before but I was like ok maybe they forgot to remove it from the shelf-it happens. Today I was there with my friends and we were in shock. We bought many things and on one of those products expiration date was June last year! I tried the product and I spit it out because it was dry and when I checked the date I was really surprised. The other product had the expiration date Nov 2023, and another one Feb 2024. It is a pity because many people come from even North Van to buy products. Can you imagine going happy there buying things you like from your country but then when you try them and realize the dates you get disappointed. Girls who work there don't know well English and once one of them asked me to translate for them. Also, once I ordered pljeskavica on the phone and when I went there to pick it up she said that she forgot to make it and she asked if I can wait another 20 mins (I couldn't, I was in rush). I can't even know where to start! We love this place so much. If you are of Eastern European descent, get in and check it out! On Fridays there is specially made pork crackling. As well as some kind of pork roasted with crispy skin. Their house made beef and pork sausages are delicious. Order the cevapi, sausages in a house made bun. You won't regret it.

We got the roasted red pepper and eggplant relish/sauce and it's so good.

Also the jellied pork/studnatz tastes just like my family recipe. And the hot pastries to go are divine! My favorite is the mashed potato pastry. Their buns are made fresh. Highly recommend!!! Gospa’s home-made food is absolutely heavenly!!! It’s like she made it for her most loved ones: fresh, rich, and extremely tasty. Plus, it is very reasonably priced.

Besides her usual menu, which gets 5 stars at least, be sure to try “žito” (traditional wheat and walnut desert) and “knedle sa šljivama” (plum noodles). Out of this world!!!

Although we have closer shops with similar menus, my Mom and I travel 25km each way at least every other week, to shop at Gospa’s Delightful Foods.
