Update: May 7 2025 This is very disturbing and disappointing. I want to say something but there’s no point. It’s not de-escalating. I just checked out a recent review from Eliot Lee. It speaks for itself. I don’t need to win the conversation. Just 5 days ago you told him the order did not exist but he screen shot the receipt off uber and it shows that food did in fact came from your establishment. I would suggest to you as a buisness owner is a simple apology and a contact. You would have more respect this way. You’re getting a lot of bad reviews from Uber. So this is something you need to look into because it’s becoming increasingly intolerable with your online service. But guess what? I did some homework for you. Your walk in customers are the opposite. You’re getting REALLY GOOD REVIEWS from in person. Find out the time of the day’s and the days of the week you are struggling with your online orders and be present for those days with your staff and monitor, instead of monitoring your surveillance cameras. If your online service hasn’t provided your customers with at least a standard expectation, perhaps you need to hire more staff or simply don’t provide online. Perhaps focus on in person walk in happy hour specials or promotional specials during the day or week. It makes more sense, because I assume uber is taking a slice of profit from you. Also focus on lunch or picnic or dinner catering. You can even offer a point/stamp system for loyal patrons. Student discounts. Corporate lunch programs. I can name so many businesses where bosses buy their employees lunch every single day like Aritzia, Weworks, light and magic, Plenty of Fish, Medical/Dental offices. You do not realize the amount of money that can be made when you think outside of the box. Every major corporate identity has offices and they order catering at least once a week. You need to create networks. Not disgruntle clientele.
Update: May 2 2025 This is my reply to the owner who messaged me. Those RED THINGS are from YOUR KITCHEN. I assumed they were beets cause I ordered beets. Just because you can prepare your food in under 5 minutes it doesn’t mean quality or consistency or common sense. Your reply is so defensive and you’re clearly having an issue LISTENING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS ISSUES. There’s a history of 1 star reviews with issues. You know what…
I should have just complained at uber eats and got my money back. I now regretted being nice and compassionate to a stranger who I never met, that is so defensive. After seeing all the complaints and how you replied to them so nasty… makes me sick. I’m clearly staying away from here.
A normal buisness owner would message me privately. Expressed some sympathy. I clearly said I was looking after my 1 year old niece. I had no time for dinner. It was clear that money didn’t matter. I wanted to buy a great dinner. I even didn’t bother complaining to get a refund. It wasn’t about money when it comes to family. It was about the safety of my 1 year old. Your staff whoever made the dinner that night didn’t come through. A simple sorry would have been a great start. But after reading your reviews, there’s no point in trying to talk to you anymore.
Original review: February 7 2025 I ordered off Uber Eats. I was quite disappointed. I also didn’t want to complain for a free meal because restaurants are struggling…
I had to babysit that night and I couldn’t take my eyes off my one year old niece. So I decided to order uber.
My original driver decided to cancel the pick up… then another driver came. He followed the instructions and was very nice. But my order wasn’t. It was cold. It was missing hummus. It was missing tzatziki. I think if there was sauces it would have made up for the order. But when I reheated the order it was drier… It’s just disappointing when you are so excited about a great meal coming and you’re left dissatisfied.
I normally don’t have bad experiences but wow… speechless. 😶
I just noticed all these take out reviews just now. I should have invested time to check prior to...
Read moreUnfortunately I have to join in and confirm what a lot of other recent reviews are saying. This is actually my 2nd time ordering in two weeks and I had issues with both, but the 2nd order was much worse. This place is providing extremely small portions of this type of food. Like many others I was enticed by the BOGO on ubereats. With that and the Uber promo it seemed like I was getting a great deal. The first time the donairs were ok, they seemed smaller than other places but were full and tasted good enough. The platter was surprising though because I ordered double meat and the food only filled about a half to 3/4 of the take out container. The meat was only one layer thick, sparse and on one side. The first time I thought it must have have been a mistake/miss on the meat. Well, I forgot about that issue and reordered a few weeks later. This time the food is even smaller portions on all fronts (donair and platter). The first time I had to fill two of my left over containers with the platters but this time I could fit both into one. The meat also seems burnt/dry. I ate a donair and did encounter some of the dried/burnt meat. Also, the donairs were so deflated that I wanted to see if they forgot the toppings or something. Turns out there is some stuff, mostly lettuce. Maybe one or two pieces of anything else I asked for. One donair was not satisfying enough compared to other places. If you need to eat two donairs and they don’t taste great then there isn’t any value anymore. The price/promo was too good to be true… think I will...
Read moreI have been going here for about 25 years now. I don't really understand all the negative reviews tbh, but most of the 1 star reviews seems to be related to a 2for1 uber eats offer and portion size. To be fair, I've only ever eaten on site and have never ordered delivery. It's pretty hard to be "scammed" when you're standing 2 feet away from the person making your food. However, there are probably too many consistently negative reviews about the same issue, to just dismiss it as "fake reviews from competitors down the street", so there is likely some truth to those reviews. All I can say is that I have only ever had positive experiences there. The food is good, you can get a large donair + can of pop for $8. To me, that is a great deal. They don't charge extra for chicken either. The chicken is a little bland IMHO, and I usually get the beef. I've never had issues with the portion size and in this day and age, you get what you pay for. The owner Ali is a nice guy and even asked me the last time I saw him working how long I had been coming there, as he recognized me and I said about 25 years. He said he has been in business for 26 years. People are entitled to their opinion. Is it the best donair ever? No, but I wouldn't be patronizing a business for 25 years if my experiences came anywhere close to what I have been...
