Read moreExtremely disappointed with our latest Hopkins experience as it has been good in the past. We made a reservation for a group, and were seated in the basement which we didn’t even know had “seating”.
There was live music upstairs and no music could be heard in the basement. The stairs were treacherous going down and we had elderly people in our group. Uneven plastic tables were covered in table cloths and we sat in uncomfortable folding chairs so the atmosphere was lacking our usual experience.
We then waited 45 minutes for a drink, and over 2 hours for our food. We would have been okay with the wait if the orders were correct and the quality was good. Several of our meals were messed up, not once, but twice. Everything came sporadically as several trips had to be done up and down stairs. Eventually we just swapped and settled amongst our plates, since others at our table were completing their meals.
It was very expensive for the quality and value. The vegetables were cold, fish was overcooked, garlic toast was burnt. It was an extremely disappointing steak special for $40- very thin steaks were not cooked to order, and obviously a poor cut since it was very chewy and gristly.
Our server tried to make up for the biggest kitchen mishaps by offering a free drink which we didn’t even want because most of us were driving and the drink quality was also poor. There was significant lack of experience in service.
If the restaurant wasn’t able to accommodate our reservation with kitchen staff and servers then they shouldn’t have booked it.
We go out to enjoy ourselves and have a nice, fun experience. We don’t spend $150/couple to be disappointed and annoyed. This was one of the worst experiences and poorest value we have had and we will not be returning. We’re better off staying in next time and meal planning for 10% of...
Read moreThe worst experience on Valentines Day! First of all after we were seated our server took twenty minutes to show up and take our order, and when she finally showed up she seemed like she had somewhere else shed rather be. She then finally gave us our menus and asked what we wanted to drink. We told her and that took another ten minutes to get our beverages She then asked if we were ready to order, she took our order and started venting about how busy its was a she was leaning on our table, and that she wished the day was over. I didn't come to visit the waitress, we came for a special Valentines day dinner. She finally brought the food, it made it to our table almost exactly an hour later..... I had chicken and the moose chips. The chicken was so dry it could barely swallow it and so were the moose chips. We stopped the waitress and let her know and her response was do you need some water?I said no! I cant eat this its so dry I cant even swallow it. The she walked away. I thought she was going to fix the problem, but no! She came back with our bill and asked if we wanted desert as she set the bill on the table and started walking away! I said excuse me! Can I at least get a to go container? She brought me the container and I reluctantly packed my over priced feed into the container then we headed down to pay the outrageous bill. As we were leaving my date turned to me and said " We wont ever go there again! By this time all the restaurants were closing so for our Valentines day dinner we got to go back home to have kraft...
