First of all, great location, the view is very nice, we love the Harbour City. Secondly, the food is not very good at all. It was actually almost entirely inedible, my wife couldn’t eat her meal whatsoever and I did the best I could to choke down veiny, slimy and boiled skin lemongrass chicken. It is highly insulting to be served such bad quality food, I’m honestly shocked they would serve that. When the waiter took the food back to the kitchen we heard him complaining about us to the kitchen staff. How do we know this? We spent quite some time in Vietnam and understand a fair amount of the language, not to mention they were speaking very loud which makes for bad business. That truly was disappointing. Overall the food had no taste, poor presentation, the fish sauce was watered down, the pork was very strangely coloured and looked like grey matter, the pork patties were the frozen ones from fairway market that probably had been frozen, thawed and refrozen over and over again, they looked like deep fried freezer burnt dry patties. Totally not appetizing.
My suggestion would be to enhance the flavours, buy some quality food and create a bit of presentation on the plate. This food does not taste like Vietnam food, I understand it’s important to make it taste more western, but cmon there’s very little flavour and effort.
I’m currently not feeling so good, crossing my fingers that I do not get food poisoning. Thumbs down, I do...

Our visit to Sealand Pho in Nanaimo was a very positive experience. I had the Sealand Special Beef Pho, and it truly hit the mark—the broth was flavorful and well-balanced, the meats were of good quality, and the ratio of noodles to meat was just right. The fresh bean sprouts, lemon wedges, and the excellent chili oil were thoughtful touches that made the dish even more enjoyable.
We also tried one of the vermicelli bowls. While the overall dish was okay, the spring roll lacked a bit of flavor and didn’t taste as fresh. The vermicelli noodles themselves seemed to fall apart a bit—perhaps due to overcooking or the type of noodle used. Still, it was a satisfying meal.
The service was very friendly, and one of the most unique features of Sealand Pho is its stunning location. The view from our table overlooking the water added something truly memorable to the experience. And for a place with such a premium setting, the pricing is more than fair—likely even better than what you’d find in less desirable locations.
There’s room for a few small improvements, but this restaurant shows a lot of heart and potential. Wishing the team at Sealand Pho continued growth and success. May your hospitality and hard work nourish many in this...
Read moreThis eatery was extremely unimpressive and I cannot illiterate that enough. For starters it is clean it's beautiful and it's location is absolutely stunning from the outside top patio. The servers were more than friendly and did an amazing job they were courteous and very diligent in the service they provided. So why the two-star rating I will tell you. First off the food was extremely unimpressive and Bland and taste for a Vietnamese style restaurant also the weight for the food was over an hour in which time I consumed three beers (little bottles). I was then informed in front of my dinner guest that I invited that I was officially cut off because they are not allowed to serve over three beers to any individual at any given time. So between this experience and the bland food one of which I had to send back it was very unimpressive. In conclusion if you want one two or tops three beers and look out over the rooftop patio you will have a great View and as I said the staff is amazing as regards to Vietnamese style cuisine, a...
