This place was….just mehhhh 🤷♀️. I was super excited to go because the menu listed two types of vegan dogs and vegan cheese sauce (plus they mentioned vegan mac and cheese in their Frequently Asked Questions section), but then we got there and the vegan Brat and vegan cheese sauce were hand-crossed off the menu hanging on the wall (like literally a black marker crossed out line) and the monotone, less than enthusiastic teenager behind the counter said, “yeah…..we haven’t had that in a while….” when we asked (so….maybe get a new menu sign? Or at least update your website?). Plus the vegan ice cream was posted as a different flavor than what it actually was (although it was okay tasting, I kept trying to figure out where the “toasted coconut” flavor was until my husband finally went back inside and found out it was actually Chai flavored). Read moreI stumbled upon Big Dee's Ice Cream Shop by sheer coincidence, and boy, am I glad I did! This place is like a magical wonderland for your taste buds. The ice cream is so good, it's almost criminal. I had a scoop of their flavor, bubble gum and I swear, I could hear The King himself singing in my head.
The decor of the place is quirky and fun, with ice cream dripping on the wall and tubes with names of drinks It's like stepping into a time machine that takes you back to the good old days of soda fountains and sock hops.
The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating Talk about customer service!
If you're in the mood for some delicious ice cream and a good laugh, Big Dee's is the place for you. Just don't blame me if you get brain freeze from eating too much of their...
Read moreArtisan ice cream. At first I was like whaa, $8 ice cream sandwhich? But then soon entered an alternate universe where everything in life became better with each individual bite. Its like that scene in pulp fiction regarding the $5 shake (which was actually expensive at the time, because inflation). My Travolta moment was when I realized that this was obviously made in-house with top notch ingredients. Pistachio ice cream between 2 spectacular cookies? Yes please. Oh and my girlfriend likes it cause it works with her nutritional sensitivies. No this aint your Beyers made in a giant factory 5000 km away and upheld by unpronounceable ingredients. If that's what you're after than might...
