A spot that's worth the drive from Fredericton.
With a fairly large outdoor patio with some quaint lighting in the evenings, it has quite the modern, comforting feel right from the get go. Inside is bright and spacious and the menu is varied with great visuals on the wall. In one corner, you can see a cute light tree with a wooden high chair and their award for #40 in Canada's top 50 burgers which after eating here, is well deserved.
The staff who I think may have been the owner as we were there at an odd hour was very nice and offered table service. I had the maple burger which was only slightly sweet, allowing you to take in all the other flavours from the cheese, bacon and especially the bun. The bun was well buttered and added some much richness to the burger, it was fantastic. It also wasn't monstrous like a lot of food in North America has gotten, especially burgers. It's large enough with the fries and small portion of either chips or red cabbage sauerkraut that you don't need anything else, except for one of the local brews either in a can or on tap.
My wife had the kimchi burger which was equally delicious and diverse in flavours. Having kimchi on a burger was a surprisingly delicious addition. I look forward to getting my own the next...
Read moreIt's no secret how many burgers to choose from...yep 7. Our house of 6 and guests were very pleased with our burgers. I was impressed with the fresh quality of burgers we recieved. No frozen patties. Cooked to the way you want them. Which did slow down our ordering process for the size of our order. Over all everyone was impressed with what they recieved. Friendly homey feel for dine in. Will recommend to anyone who is in the mood for a yummy burger.
And have you seen that they have been nominated has one of Canada's top 20 burger restaurants. Tied with another in Fredericton for best burger restaurant in NB! Well done Jane! I love the high quality burgers. How about that unicorn burger we discussed for the burger...
Read moreWe were on our way from Cape Breton to Toronto and decided to stop in for a burger at Jane's--that was a good decision. I had the Oromocto burger and my GF had the K burger. The bun was soft and chewy, while the tender meat was perfectly cooked to retain its juiciness. The crispy onions, mayo and cheese sauce worked well together and my GF's K burger still had her talking about it an hour later (but you must like kimchee to love that burger). All in all an excellent experience. Some suggestions: option of better soft drinks like Boylan's, Jones or Jarrito would be have elevated the meal even higher; table service is not really necessary; and maybe opening a bit later on a Friday would better...
