We booked a reservation for 2 for our anniversary. We decided our orders before arrival because we had looked at the menu online.
After being seated, it took quite some time for a server to take our drink order. So much that after they had, 2 servers came by and asked to take our orders. When our order was taken we were ready to order but were not given an opportunity to place that.
Received our drinks and placed our app and meal order. Server came back and let us know that we could not get mussels as they only had enough to continue to serve their pasta that required them. This made it seem like an app order for $15 of a customer now was less important than a possible $25 entree order of a future customer. We decided to not order something different because mussels were what we wanted.
Our entree’s came quickly and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her mushroom risotto. My medium rare striploin didn’t impress me at all. The amount of fat around the steak made it hard to chew except for the 2 centre pieces I cut. The medium rare steak cook time didn’t allow for the 1/4” of fat on ends to render enough and should have not been left on the steak. 30+seconds to chew a piece isn’t right. There was no listed weight on the menu and had that been cut off or trimmed it would have been much better than making it look bigger on the plate. To me it was not worth the price of the plate.
The time between receiving our bill and having someone return to ask about a machine was lengthy.
Perhaps tonight was “busy” but the table next to us waited from before we received our food until after we were already completed to order any food. This was not a request for “more time”
The large 5+ person parties seemed to have servers hovering over them while 4- person parties were left to...
Read moreMany people raved to me about this place but it was not worth the price tag. The server sort of grilled us where were from, how long we have been in town etc. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We were initially impressed with the atmosphere inside, cool and modern up front. They led us around to a back patio addition room and sat us in a tight corner. I was dressed up for the occasion but highly uncomfortable as they had the back door open, and it was not air conditioned like up front. It was so hot I had to get up and walk to the bar area to cool down during dinner. If we wanted to be sweating outside, we would have picked outside. Noticed while i was near the bar. Someone, presumably, a staff had left their spare leggings or lace trim underpants on the water serving counter accross from the main bar. That made me notice there is a fair bit of clutter around on the decor, its very mixed. Some modern. Some county crocks. Some random animal statues. Pictures on the wall a bit faded. Overall mixed vibe in different areas. Wish we had sat up in the cool modern area. Not the back porch with the door open. Kohlrabi was supposedly roasted but was hard and crunchy inside. The meat was dry half way thru and the jus was not generous enough to have some with all the dry parts. They couldnt explain what was the modern update on the Ceasars modern makeover. So we didnt get it. Beware steak frites is literally just steak and fries, will not see a vegetable on the side. So perhaps a salad would have been good. They were sold out of house red, but said they would honour the price for the next bottle on the menu and when the bill came they had just charged the more expensive price. Good thing we checked the bill.... Probably...
