Timo Italian Grille — Restaurant in New Tecumseth

This was our first time at this restaurant, although I really dislike given any negative reviews, I think any review is beneficial for others when deciding where to go. We went around 1:30pm on a Sunday afternoon, not busy at all, all the tables were empty except for another family. We were celebrating a birthday. It's a nice decorated place, clean and fresh looking with appealing renovations. They also have a cute robot that delivers your food to your table. Putting all that aside, unfortunately the waiter, who so happens to be the owner, didn't appear to want to be there nor working on a Sunday, sorry. He never said his name, nor if we have ever been there before, or if we were celebrating anything that afternoon, or features for the day. We also never got our drinks, and our water ran dry and never got topped up. HUGE MENU, we started with the Polenta Fries, which were nice, but very bland. We both ordered the Gnocchi Gorgonzola, which came to the table with a skin upon the cream sauce which indicated that it had been sitting waiting for awhile before the robot delivered the food. The gnocchi were certainly not fresh, nor light and fluffy as they should be. They tasted as if they were already cooked, then reheated in boiling water, leaving them hard and chewy. Also very bland dish, requiring lots and lots of grated cheese. Waiter never came around to see how things were tasting. He cleared things up and we never got asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu or wanted a coffee etc. Seeing that we were celebrating a birthday, we paid the bill and headed to Salvatore's Cakes and enjoyed a freshly made cappuccino and delicious Italian pastry (highly recommend Salvatore's for fresh pastries). Will not be going back to this restaurant, will try something else next time. Hoping this...

7pm sat reservation. Server was pleasant but seemed intent on getting us in and out as quickly as possible. Brought main course to table while we still having our first course, asked if she could take the unfinished 1st course while we were still obviously eating them. Followed that up by bring bill and machine to table before we had finished our wine. Wasn't particularly busy but we were being rushed. The ceaser salad consisted of romaine, a few croutons, and a very bland dressing devoid of any seasoning, including no discernable garlic! Very poor. The mussels were tasty and plentiful but there were several empty shells and a number of closed shells, leaves diner wondering how careful cook (chef would be a stretch here) was at ensuring mussels were safe for consumption. Dining partner had the veal parmesan and I had the veal scallopini. The veal parmesan was well dressed and tender, although virtually all the flavour came from sauce and cheese. Both meals came with potatoes and vegetables that in both cases were undercooked and so cold it was clear they had been sitting in the kitchen for an extended period of time. When I pointed this out to server, she apologized and returned plate to kitchen. 90 seconds later a new full plate was returned to the table with the vegetables warm but still undercooked. The explanation was that it had been prepared for another diner but I got it!!?? The scallopini was luke warm, so over cooked it needed a sharp knife and plenty of effort to cut, no sauce what so ever, and had the consistency and flavour of a piece of cardboard. Hard to destroy an actual piece of veal to this degree. Could have used these two pieces of veal as skipping stones on the local pond. Really awful meal. Hope their pasta meals are better but won't be finding out...

We had booked reservations for five of us, girls night out type of thing, on a Saturday night. We look forward to getting together since some of us have to come from far away to meet us there we walked in and we waited for a few girls that were a little delayed, not more than 15 minutes the waiter came up to the table 3 or four times wanting us to place our orders because he said That the tables had reservation after us we looked over to the rest of the restaurant was completely empty. Don’t understand why he would say that only to push us to hurry up we place our orders once the other girls had come and then proceeded to wait a very long time for food to come out , food came out and most of it was a not to our liking. My particular meal was pasta with seafood and it was very spicy sauce, and was not able to eat. There was no mention of spicy on the menu , the gnocchi were hard and not tasty at all and the other girls also had issues with their food.we are not people to complain about the food or send food back just a warning won’t be returning. He rushed us through didn’t even ask if he wanted a dessert and we asked him what is for dessert he had no clue what was on the menu and mumbled a few things That’s not a very pleasant person. Don’t think this is his type of job should not be in the service industry should be looking for maybe a different job to sue this needs. And PLEASE NOTE WE WHERE 5 PEOPLE AND HE CHARGED US 20% GRATUITIES??? on the BILL! I don’t think...
